Is a facial worth the extra cash or can they be a hassel?

Depends. If the bed is a high canopy then nothing under 500watts/4 facials. If it's a close canopy you can get away with 400watt lamps. It kinda depends on your salon also. If you have NO true HP machines some people think the facial beds are "higher end" BUT if you are trying to up sell a HP machine and you have a bed with lousy facials people may balk at trying the HP.

Are you talking about facial lamps or lotions.
Lotions, I say yes, if you have a hard to tan face, these lotions will help your face tan quicker and you will not have to worry about break outs if you have sensitive skin.
Lamps on beds..They make a difference, alot clients like them.

Facial lamps are definitely worth the extra cash, because you will always be able to get $1-$2 more per session than your base beds. Some people have a hard time tanning their face, so the facial bed is a necessity!! It is the 2nd most popular bed in my salon, next to my 12-15 min. VHR Bed!!

I am putting in a new salon and one salesman is really trying to persuade me into buying beds without facials. That kinda of worries me because I think I would be better off with facials, but wanted some professional advice since I'm new to the tanning business. I also had one salesman from Ergoline to tell me the high pressure facials cause severe damage to the face and I have never heard that before. He also said he would not use beds with high pressure facials because they can leave permanent white spots on your face. I read an old post about several clients getting second degree burns from hp facials because the filter was cracked or something like that (not exact quote). Most people seemed to think the hp facials were safe because anything has risks and things that can go wrong. Overall I was just wondering if facials would increase my sells and from the info I have gathered here it will. Thanks for all the great info.
