I pay $12 per square foot for 1200 sq. feet. I write cheques for $1200.00 per month. The way it is usually done is: square feet x $ per square feet, which give you the yearly cost. Then divide by 12 (as in months) to get the monthly cost. I wish I paid $3 too!

Wow Suntanztanning, you are pretty popular I did not know you knew 98% of the landlords. Look, it was just a different way of looking at it, a simple misunderstanding I guess on my part.

junglefever....I don't think you will ever make it based on what you said, I am not trying to be a downer for you, but you must do a buisness plan, demographics and check out the compitition..
I am only 760 Sq ft. I pay 1300. which includes maint..... I have 4 laydowns......2 stand up...and 1 leg tanner I opened March 1,2003 I had to get into my retirement to get through the last 4 months If you don't have enough capital to get through the tough times, then your ship is going to be sunk. I did research for 8 months then did the business plan, and even whith all of that I am lucky to be here today, and one reason I am is because of the education...and I HAD $$$ that I could get my hands on......I do not see how you can make it w/only 4 booths(do you mean stand up)?? if so I think you might need a better mix of equipment...more beds...good luck....Linda PS..can you afford to pay that 3,600 out of your pocket in off season and still deal w/the home bills etc??_________________ [ This Message was edited by: ALOHATANCA on 2004-02-02 13:37 ] |

Thanks for all the input. I have being doing research and all the salons are in upscale areas and doing well, however they have more equipment than I would. Are you guys saying more people prefer beds or the booths? I'm getting a headache. Think I can get the rent down to 2500 monthly. This town is on the gulf of mexico and rent is outrageous. I am glad I Found this site on the interent I have learned a great deal. Long way to go I guess. But I don't want to give up...
