Time to take a laxative here!!
Coco - your stance (while truly bizarre) is your 'justified opinion’.... and like assholes, we ALL got an opinion If TELEMARTKETING was not such a steak knife up the butt for so many people --- they never would have made 'No solicitation' phone services, or be currently working on laws that prohibit many types of these calls.... A public service is calling to let people know of a Jail Break.... or a call letting you know of the Meth Lab your neighbor may be building in his kitchen.... But calls to remove money from your account into their account - for CRUD you would not rub on the bag of a low hung dog... well, that falls into the Annoying category.... and any person that disrupts the business of another - should get their *** kicked imho. |

Well, COCONUT, a public service as most people know it is something like the city bus you take to work every day, the public health clinic you go to, or the public restroom at the park across the street from your house that you use everyday. Things like that. My business is a private business. Being so, I do not enjoy being bothered by uninvited snake oil salesmen interrupting me and my employees several times during the day. I do not understand how my position on this bothers you so. Do you have telemarketers in your family?? Are your kids telemarketers?? If so, let me apologize for offending you, I did not mean to disparage you or your family in any way, and I certainly dont want to encumber their ability to earn a living. Can't we just be friends, coconut??

I honestly think some of you are being hasty on dishing the telemarketers from tanning distributors like Salon Support, T.W. Four Seasons etc. Yes, I know that it can be very annoying to receive calls when you are busy, BUT just today, one of these distributors called me and offered me a very deep discount on my lotions, plus free shipping. After doing some checking, that was a $5.00 saving on my most popular bottle of lotion. So as of today, I have a new distributor. With busy season being only about six months, I do what I have to do to save money. I think RandyR is selfish and full of himself for having his attitude. It's called BUSINESS!! Just as you would shop around for a new car for the best price, you should also shop around for your lotions to get the best price.

Yes ~ the operative word here would require RANDY to shop around for the BETTER deal... not be harassed by telemarketers....
And this just in ~ Many distributors will call and offer you a outrageous deal on a product that is intended to ~ * grab all your lotion business from your normal Distributor *clearance old crap off their shelves *Deep discount a brand they have been 'cut off from by the MFG' I find it amazing the lack of comprehension shown in these replies..... I GET my own best deals.... I test and sell ONLY the best lotions in my salon .... If I want to buy a car - I certainly don't expect the local dealers to be calling me at home or my business.... C me Say? (and don't let me see you tramping about clients that jump from your salon to another just to save a few dollars..... it's just business right? Loyalty means squat to some and deserves squat in return) |

Kava Kava, I wouldn't even think of bringing that lotion into my salon. Kava Kava is something I do after a night of eating tacos and chile backed up by Tequila shooters. I get calls from dists. that I don't want to deal with like everyone, be nice, explain to them that you are not interested, you have clients to tend to, thank them for their call and hang up. Done deal, why make it out to be a life altering experience????????????? Handle them the same way you would when AT&T calls you at home for a long distance discount, but "seem" nice!

We have a policy that we tell these people to send free samples of their lotions for us to try and if we like them we will consider them. When they come back and say they can not do that, we tell them if they are a reputable company they will send them. They do not like this and then hang up on you and don't hear from them for a long time...hee
