I was wondering how many other people were being aggravated by telemarketers. We're getting a lot of calls and what urks me is that they never want to send you anything to try they have the nerve to ask you to pay some OUTRAGEOUS price just to try their product because THEY SAY its the "BEST THING OUT THERE, I've TANNED WITH IT AND NOTHING HAS WORKED BETTER" Yeah right! You're paid to say that. I mean I know samples cost money but I'm sorry, if you are trying to push a product on people you have to let them try it and make an opinion. If they like it, they will buy it from you DUH! I don't know about you guys but a lot of times in the winter I'm juggling everything because I cut back on help. It always seems to be when you're cleaning a bed that these idiots call and you have to run to the phone (cause if you're like me you forgot to grab it before you got up) and then you get to the phone to find out its just a telemarketer. I just put em on hold til they hang up or I hit the fax machine if I see one that has called before HAHA

Well I'm a little late getting on here today because WOW I'm a salon owner and I just decided to stroll in BECAUSE I CAN today at 5 in the evening. But we're the stupid ones? I can't believe the nerve of that B**** FIREGODDESS! She is clueless! Until I read that she actually had a partner I was thinking boy I bet her employees are taking her for a ride. I wonder if her partner knows her opinions about the people who run tanning salons? I am a licensed Insurance professional and my husband is an Accountant and we opened a tanning salon because it was my goal. This business is our first priority and we now do accounting and insurance on the side at OUR leisure. FIREGODDESS has all her education and no brains! Who in the right mind would work for someone else when they can be their own boss. FURTHERMORE, WHAT IS SHE DOING ON HERE???????? IF THIS IS JUST A THING ON THE SIDE FOR HER THEN WHY IS SHE ON HERE LOOKING FOR ADVICE? Is her salon in trouble perhaps? I might add that my first job was as a telemarketer and although I would rather see someone working then using my tax dollars to support them, telemarketing is an annoyance, always has been and always will be.
I will get off my soap box now, I apologize to you all for stooping to her level but I felt the need to say something to her ignorant a**! |

I agree with all of you. Both the positive and negative of it. What can you really do to stop it I ask? I tried everything mentioned above and I still get calls.
I will say this. If those lotion maggots would send a few samples to try I would be more than happy to give them a try. Sampling does work. For example, last year Fiji sent out a sample box to most of the salons in the U.S. In that box were bottles of their most popular lotions. I let the customers use them for free and they fell in love with Tantric and Electra. I sold over 200 bottles of Electra in 2004. I expect to beat that this year. So you lotion pushers should take a lesson. Call me and confirm my address for the free stuff. I'll let my customers decide the out come. This I will promise. If your soup is worth anything and my customers ask for it, I will buy it. Otherwise, save the nickel because I will NEVER BUY LOTION over the phone when I have no idea what it smells like, feels like or even if it works. If your lotion was worth a crap you would sample it out. Bottom line, No Sample - No Sale. Have a nice day, elsewhere! |

it IS an OLD thread, (actually not that old) but is still as pertinent as the day it was first posted. Salon owners STILL dont want to be annoyed by solicitors and lotion "sales people." Hopefully they will read this topic and STOP CALLING. If salon owners would stop buying products from these solicitors they would not have any reason to call. So please everyone, STOP BUYING from them.

I agree with you guys, No Sample No Sale, I think I might use that with the next telemarketer Suntanz (haha) Sorry again for getting carried away earlier. I wasn't paying attention to how old the thread was. It really urked me that someone would presume we're not educated. This business doesn't just run itsself.
