Way to go. Would you please put some of those tanners on a bus and send them our way.

"Aloha" ....Alohatan....just had to say that. I'm a Maui girl so nice to see a cool name. Anyways I know what you mean about cash running out. I had no idea about the slow season and that hit me unexpectedly. Well things are picking up again...thank goodness. But, I've decided to go back and work at my previous job(that will get me back on track with the personal finances) and I'll still be working the evening hours at my salon + weekends. I have an employee that's very dependable, responsible & has great sales ability so I've decided to let loose and let him run the salon in the mornings. Someday I'll be able to feel the financial freedom that comes with owning your own biz. In the meantime guess I gotta work my a** off at least for the first two years or so.

geez, I knew about the slow season, but you all are scaring me! I am about to open my salon in 2 weeks or so..the finishing touches are being made, advertising about to begin, and the beds almost on the doorstep, meanwhile, I have run into expenses I didn't plan on, and instead of leasing or financing the beds, we (at the last minute) made the choice of using our home equity account, because the payments would be better. I didn't apply for a business loan or line of credit, but feeling as if I should now. How much $$ should I set aside for myself for the year to come? should I match a years worth of expenses, what do you all think? and has anyone received a business loan right after being opened? I can't imagine that being easy....your help would be appreciated. I didn't plan on another job at the same time, as it is I help run my husbands remodeling business.

We're up to 40 or so from 20/day. I expect to build to 140-160/day in a month or so. We have 10 beds.
