Online Reservations

Heard in Nashville that some salons offer online reservations. Don't recall what software(s) allow that. Anyone have it? use? pros? cons?

Two days, no responses. Guess that means nobody does it, huh?!

I know the Helios allows clients to make online appointments.
But we do not do appointments in our salons, it is so much easier, especially during season.

Our salon offers Online Scheduling where customers can make an appointment 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The client can see what time slots are available before scheduling.
After making an online appointment, the customer and the salon are instantly notified via email. Our customers love the convenience of making an appointment with just a few clicks of the mouse. Because we also take appointments by phone, email and walk-ins, it’s important to remember to immediately update the website Online Scheduling page.
The program I use is a CGI script which runs on PERL that I installed on my UNIX server. I had to modify the script to fit our salon’s format.

My salon has service to make an appointments on line, Very convenient. They can view what is available and what is not. After reservation, they can see if they got it, even confirmation is printable. I shot down this service becouse they can not come on time.... I do not accept an appointments anymore. It is better for salon and service.

but what about wait times. I find if you dont accept appointments then people can wait too long and get peeed...

I agree. No appts. is great for salons with lots of equipment.

When I worked at another salon she saw soooo many people that we simply could not do anything right. Without appointments we had a 45 minute-1 hour wait. With appointments there were just not enough available. We would have the whole day filled up and no one could walk in. HORRIBLE!! When I opened my salon, I decided I would only take appts. on my big bed. Another reason for them to buy that package

I used to use that, but not many people used it, so took it off and now save an additional $29.99 a month.... From the looks of this month.... I will need that money.lol

I'm trying www.appointmentworks.com free trial. We'll see how it goes, but it'll take a while before people know that they can book online. May help a bit though.
