What has the Tanning Industry Done for YOU Lately .

Since I have seem to get a number of Trollers and or True tanning Folks to read my posts ON Going out of Business and ETC.

I figured I might as well OPEN the WHOLE CAN of worms Why Not ......I do not care What anyone thinks or says because in my book the one "s that aren't even man or women to Confront the Current situations in Tanning to Myself or anyone Else For that matter Aren't worth My time at ALL Period, And I have no Use for them AT ALL.

Such is Life I assume .......George Carlin the comedian said it best anyone who is in business Just B.S. People for a living and Lies thru the teeth every the chance they get,,,,Hmmmmmm Tanning isn't part of that script is it ?????????

The first Year I was in tanning there was only one salon operator out there that actually helped US with the exception of Jim peek formally of Ultrasun say what You want about Him ,,,, He was a great Guy with knowledge unsurpassed IN this industry and Honest as the day was Long ,,,,,,With Him and Our dear friend In Sacramento CA .....WE had no one else at all ,,,,,Bed folks were too busy trying to sell US the latest and greatest crap they Have at that time forget about Lotion folks the Distb"s were SO full of Crap and didn't KNOW anything at all but in How to cash Your check once the got it, I really do not think Much has changed in that Dept. ???????

Then a few years went buy of trial and error Selling the wrong products charging the incorrect tanning times, Giving away the House to everyone to and anyone Just to feel that we where making a difference ......

The typical Tanning salon Horror story of maturity and Hard growth ,,,,,DOES this ring a bell ????????

OHH I forget some of You are now experts and Know everything about Tanning,,,Well for the one "s that can relate to this continue to Read Please and for the Ones who know everything ,,,, You should get to Your office and finish Counting all of YOUR Money You made today :}}}}}}}}}

Let "s Explore all avenue"s shall we and BE TRUTHFULL ABOUT IT ALL .....DO you think besides Myself and a few others out Here in Cyber can actually BE Unbiased for a Just a moment in time and Realize what is Happening WE shall Thu the replies from this Post and All of You dedicated TanTalk Lurkers will soon see the Truth as it plays out.


Up till 3 years Not one single Person with the Exception of Jim Peek really truly cared about you or Your business ,,, All they wanted to DO was sell good "s and get paid and as long as You where on time with Payment s It was all good.....If you switched on them or got behind on a payment or an Open Invoice forget about it There was a Huge price to Pay and now Your best friend that was telling You how great You where just a few months Earlier ,,,,,,,WAS Now the enemy ohh and lets not forget the Bed Manufactures that sold You that UNIT that was the UNIT to own remember that Ultrabrontz Pitch ,,,,,,I do very well,,,,Can"t live without it and if You do not buy it from Us we will sell it to Your bestfriend and He will make a mint and You will Suffer and by they way WE have territories for You to Have of course as long as You buy from US ,,,,,,,The great salesman they were ......

Question did any of those great sales guy "s ever come out to Your store and sit with You and give a day of there Time to Help YOUR BUSINESS GROW I hardly doubt it at all ......AT the trade shows Your were their best friends on the phone they love You long time .........In person to get more then 20 Minutes of their personal time and attention forget about it Unless of course You are such a big player and have 20 locations Plus and so on and then maybe they will love You for the Season that is.

Sounds familiar Doesn't It ...............They sell on SCARE TACTICS AND do not be fooled otherwise at ALL ........

When is the last time You called a major BED Manufacture and wanted to Buy a Single bed or even multiple Units and they offered to Come Out to Your store and Spend the entire Day with You and Your family or Your girlfriend or sister or brother, I mean the owner of the COMPANY Not that Jerkoff Disb ,,,, That is going to tell You everything and Anything You want to Hear to get the Sale and Blow out of town after the Install is Over ......I am sure this Has happened Many times to ALL OF US.........

I want You all to think about this before You respond ?????????

You have just invested major dollars into a company that is selling YOU beds that You have Your *** on the line for and they cannot even Come out and see You and shake YOUR HAND ,,,,,,,, You are the buyer ,,,,,I know before I really get going on this matter some brain surgeon on Here is going to come up with the analogy that why doesn't The owner of ford or any other Big company Come out and see US ,,,,,Its Way different that car or even Large ticket Item ,,,,,Is not our bread and Butter it doesn't send our Kids to college It doesn't Put Food on your table and it surely does not Pay your rent .......Think about this ???????

Where ARE YOU AT is my question I do not want my hand shaken at a trade show floor and told that You love me ,,,,,,,That isn't enough for Me and it should Not be ENOUGH FOR YOU THE SALON OWNERS OUT THERE?

I bet You that Vulker from Ergo Kiss Troy coopers behind every chance he gets as He builds more palm beach tanning salons doesn't He ???????

Why hasn't He came to your store and Shook Your hand ???????????

WHY do I need a middle man to sell me YOUR UNITS AND mark it Up even More so in return it costs me More ?... For years I wouldn't Carry Cal-tan at all ,,,,,Why You ask there so called management team Sucked at best they only thing they were good for was meeting and taking care of Distbs that "s all ,,,, With good margin counts everyone made money and HAD Less work to do ,,,,,Once again Unforgiving spoiled to the core lazy *** Folks in an industry that doesn't care about its own ????????

The Distributors I want to start off by saying there a few good one "s out there in fantasy land that we all work in ,,,,,,Very Few but a few good one"s I am one of the lucky One "s a have a great one indeed ............

However on the grand scale of things WHY DO WE NEED THEM ????????

They are overpaid Lazy do not care about You at all in most cases ........And have skated past all of US for way too long ???????

Proof is in the pudding, Lets get back to beds shall we Every single guy I know that sells beds with the exception of one in conn....Every single guy has worked for at least 2 to 5 other companies,HMMMMMM That's loyalty at its finest wouldn't You say ???????? So if they bounce around so much How can they Sell You something with true meaning and Due diligence to YOU.....They cannot AT ALL ......

WHY DO WE NEED THEM AT ALL ???????

Because this industry has been so Lazy for so long its unreal that its lasted as long as it has ???????

When is the last time they came out to YOUR store and Trained Your staff on selling products and selling the BEDS that You bought from them the Right way ??????

Not too often at all ..........90% Suck yes I said You Suck ........10% are worth there weight in GOLD .......

Once again after reading this post Call them and ask them if they can come out to YOUR store and Help train YOUR staff ,,,,,SEE what the EXCUSE WILL BE.

Tanning is still a good industry with Lots of good people in IT ,,,,,However the One "s at the Top who have been there Way TOO long NEED TO Change or GO ,,,,,,,You know who You are .............

10 years ago You could build a salon for under 60 grand and make a great living, Now that same store is 250 grand and You make the same money.

There is something very Wrong here ?????????? DO something about it ......

Why don't the mods from this site respond to your posts? You say because we stay away from anything that involves scrutiny or truth, I say because we have more important things to do than listen to a naysayer's version of his/her truth. I do care what happens to this industry but I cannot afford the time or stress of dwelling on it. I choose to spend my time focusing on building my business. I can't worry about the monsters under the bed waiting to gobble me up while I am asleep. I am sure you will rebuttal this and say we are sticking our heads in the sand, blah, blah, blah....

If you are so unhappy with the state of the tanning business; then get out and let us run our businesses with the help and respect of each other here, sharing what we have learned and focusing on real threats to our industry. I, for one, have had enough of your gloom and doom forecast. I will listen to those who have facts instead of just opinions and weigh their advice for my business. Change is inevitable in any business, heck, change is inevitable in life. You can kick and scream about it and die or you can adapt and figure your way through it and survive.
I think most of us here are survivors.

Keyser, I can say that the owner of American Sun Systems(who I purchased from)has not been to my salon. I can say that my beds were delivered and set up for me, I can say that my distributor has came to my salon and spent a whole day at my salon, I can say on more than 5 occasions I have spent more than 30 minutes at a time on the phone with him and discussed on my times different aspects of this industry. I can say now that Sundash are doing things different my new rep has came and did a personal call to my salon in the last month. No, maybe not the president, but the personal touch I have received in the past 2 years from my bed distributor I am very happy with.
I can say with Smart Tan I have emailed Steve Chaney on several occasions and he has personally emailed me back with answers to my questions. I think if you are having a hard time making friends, maybe you should rethink you attitude. Sometimes we need to do a self check if we seem to have no one taking time for us. You know other people are busy too.

I do have a good relationship with 2 distributors but I am not looking for the salon visit or hand pumping---- I just want GREAT service with a group that does not divert. The Bed issues I will be dealing with this year.... Again - my salon won't make or break any MFG or the ITA..... I am looking for the best service to help me provide the same.
