I am curious to know how many of you go to some place like a Curves or Ladies Workout Express. I am thinking about enlarging my salon and adding a Ladies Workout Express next door. The two places would be marketed together and open to each other so you could go from one to the other. If you are going to one of these places please let me know the following stuff.

1. How much do you pay?
2. Is it done on an electronic debit?
3. Do you sign any type of contract or is it just month to month?
4. What do you love about the place you go?
5. What do you hate about the place you go?
6. Do they offer aerobics classes too?
7. Do they allow kids to come in with mom?
8. Hours?

Thanks a bunch for the help.

What if you just opened a regular gym? Why only target the women? Get their hubbies in their too! I personally don't "get" the women only gyms.
Good luck whatever you decide!

The ladies only gyms have their place, they fill a need for the ladies that only want to go to a place that other women are at. They also make money and really dovetail with a tanning salon. You need about 500-700 paying members to be very profitable for a mid size circuit training ladies only salon. They take up about 1500-1700 square feet and can outearn a tanning salon. Think about it, if you have say 10,000 names in your computer and 80% of those are women couldn't you find 500-700 or a real good chunk of those who already go to a workout place that would use your place instead? Then again I could be wrong.

I belong to Curves for Women and it is great. I always thought it would team up good with a tanning salon also. A lot of my tanners were Curve's members. With Curves you are guaranteed that money each month because you sign up for a year and they take it out of your checking account. I think it is around $30 a month that I pay. There are a lot of women who use these facilities.

We have been considering opening the womens circiut also. My question is do you do the franchise or go on your own with more equipment, and larger facility.
