Want peoples feed back on StarPower as a base bed.

Is it a good quality bed?
Is it too high for a base bed?

It's a 52 lamp bed. You can take a look at it here.

Personally, I think it is too much bed for a base bed. Where are you going to go with upgrades and will you be able to compete pricewise locally with salons whose bases are 24, 28, or 32s? How many beds do you plan to have?
Also, you might consider doing a search in TanTalk for previous threads on ETS beds quality and how the company treats salon owners. You could buy two really good 32 lamp base beds for the cost listed on that website.

Good Luck! Let us know what you decide.

To good of a bed for a base bed. I would personally get the 32 lamp without facials for a base bed but if you want something a little nicer and you want to stick with ETS which their commercial grade equipment is very good regardless what everybody says I would get the 42 lamp with 3 high pressure facials its called solaris. Also it depends on how much room you have and also how many pieces of equipment you are thinking about getting.

Salons of the future do not have "base Beds"..what is a base bed??..high-end salons are doing away with them..there are salons that have all Orbits for a "base bed"..and salons that have all Giant Suns..if a bed gives a good, soft deep tan, tanners are happy..there is a trend starting in this country, in most major cities, where bas beds no longer exist. I know of one salon that has 6 "S" Class beds, and 2 Indulgence HP's..they do well..another salon with 5 Giant Suns, and one Omega3 HP..open 24hours/7days a week...another salon with the Silver Bullet as a "base" bed, offering the Sunboard and S-Class as other options..the days of the 24-32lampers are yesterday.

That is only true in certain areas. In Mass people still tramp about paying $30-45/month unlimited nevermind $15 - $25 per visit. I think you people are forgetting about the maintenance on the equipment and financial backing involved.

The maintenance is no more than a 24 lamper..the ROI is triple any base bed...prices start at $18 where I am, as a walk-in...my top price for the Omega3 is $35..and I get it..no unlimiteds..fastest bed time is 8minutes, the longest is 12minutes..no frills/thrills..just good producing equipment that gets them back. Not into selling swimsuits, clothes. All retail is private label.refuse to carry any product with anothers name on it. Even my bottled water at $1 a bottle is PL'd. My beds all have my salon name on them, professionaly done..very high-end, only 5beds in 1500sq ft,spacious truly private rooms, with private showers in salon.folks here dont want 20-30minute 24-28lampers..the beds i have perform well meeting their needs..if not, they are free to go down the street.

I am glad that works in your market. I won't say it couldn't happen here in mid-America but like engfant in our community all salons deeply discount. I am trying to raise the bar but it is a slow process.
