This is for all you newbies. This is a word of warning. Stay away from PERFECT TAN beds. They Promised me on time delivery, but they were a month late with my beds. They ruined my Grand Opening. They Promised me that they will come down and help me set up and get familiar with the equipment, but when the beds arrive there is only one guy. When you needed at least 4 men to bring in the beds. While trying to put the beds together, he asks us to go to the bar and buy him some beer. I wasn’t about to buy someone that’s setting up my beds beer. All he did was put the beds together, he didn’t have a clue as to how to wire the beds. Now I’m sitting here with my thumb up my *** because I didn’t have a clue as how to wire these beds. Then they Promise you service better then anyone else. When you call them it's an answering machine, or if someone picks up they will tell me that their in the factory and they will call me right back, but I never end up hearing from them. I can go on and on but I think you get the point I did some research in the beginning but I should have done a lot more. So please newbies don't make the same mistake I did. Good luck

Hello mgtyquin,
Now that you have had your Perfect Tan beds for awhile what do you think about the performance? I have found the web site you spoke of in another post. Hard to get a reply back them but the salon package looks like such a good deal.
Thanks,
GKG

Aren't these Sunal beds? I remember when they were a respected brand but they're only as good as the distriutor behind them. I do remember reading plenty about the Perfect Tan beds being bad news though. Too bad you didn't search all the tanning sites. Deb from PA. is one I remember. Terrible time.

Gene,
Point me in the right direction. I did a search for Perfect Tan on this site and didn't come up with much. I keep hearing that they are bad but no reseans why other than distriutor.

Perfect Tan, grew out of the old Suanl Bed company.

A quote of Solarmeter:
Quote:PERFECT TAN:
1. Positive comments on discussion boards... NONE
2. Listing of PERFECT TAN in trade magazines... NONE
3. Mention in LF Annual Buyers guide... NONE
4. An actual company called PERFECT TAN on internet search... NONE
5. Booth in Nashville Expo... did you see one?

Good grief - it appears you got what you deserve.. Ghostware with NO support.

Three on-line joints sell these beds:
1. www.tanforless.com (877)538-7826
2. www.tanningonline.com (888)999-7577
3. www.bodywraps.com AKA Discount Distributing, Cocoa, FL (800)624-1672

LOTSA LUCK getting SERVICE from such entities!

Next time buy a real bed from a real dist or mfg with a recognized name and contact ability. It appears you made your own bed - now sleep in it.

Quote from Deb in PA Quote:Live & Learn ... the hard way!

Other Quotes:
Quote: had 4 of them in my Salon and you can find WAY better beds out there. The tan well, but they run HOT AS ****. They also have a "Cramped" tanning surface and it's IMPOSSIBLE to change the acrylics without breaking a few. I know you like the price of these beds, but believe me, LOOK ELSWHERE. I'm speaking from experience. Also, you should know that customers can purchase these units also. Just my $.02

Quote:Also the "J" plexis cracked far too often

I am an owner, builder, and seller of the "Perfect Tan", "Tropical Rayz", and "Sunal" tanning beds and this forum has been brought to my attention by potential customers. I found these comments to be quite amusing and I thought I would add a few "counter points" to TikiTan, who seems bent on trashing our equipment even though she has never bought one, worked on one, and has only briefly seen them at a tradeshow in Nashville. Here are a few of my thoughts:

1. Our company has been in business for 22 years, mostly under the Sunal brand name.
2. Sunal beds which are 15-22 years old are STILL in salons today because they are made of solid steel with a powder coated finish.
3. Five years ago we renamed our same tanning bed "Perfect Tan" simply to give it a fresh and new look. The bed construction has barely changed in 22 years.
4. Three years ago we launched a new design called "Tropical Rayz" with vibrant colors and splashy graphics. This is the same bed as the first Sunal built 22 years ago.
5. Sunal, Perfect Tan, and Tropical Rayz are all build EXACTLY the same, only the color scheme changes. That is why there is not a company called Perfect Tan or Tropical Rayz.
6. We sell over 1000 tanning beds a year, I believe only ETS sells more. With this in mind, to find only 1 negative comment from our customers in this forum actually warms my heart (TikiTan doesn't count, she does not own our beds or know ANYTHING about them, and has only seen one of our 48 model briefly at a trade show).
7. Our beds are the BEST built beds you can buy, we are the only manufacturer who actually uses a welding torch during our construction. Our tanning beds are 95% solid steel, inside and out, only the decorative end caps are plastic. NO ONE ELSE CAN SAY THIS.
8. One person, who does not own are beds, trashed them by saying they are a "maintenance nightmare". Please explain to me how removing two screws can be a nightmare? Rebuilding a carburetor is a nightmare, changing a light bulb is not.
9. There are 25 key points to compare when shopping for tanning beds, the system for removing the acrylic has to be in the bottom 5. How long will the bed last should be in the top 5, along with cost, and how well the bed actually tans.
10. Our business model is to sell factory direct thru the Internet. We do not have distributors and do not pay sales commissions. This is the REASON are beds are priced so fairly. We are one of the few companies who actually put our prices on their website, you must ask yourself why the other guys do not...it is only to take advantage of you!

I believe that any company that stands behind their product 100% is worth a shot. My problem with this post is MGTYQUIN is having a problem with these beds and TANMAN13 is bashing TIKITAN instead of reassuring the rest of us that MGTYQUIN is a unique case and is not how Sunal does business. TIkitan appears to only be reposting comments by others regarding the quality of the beds and not really trashing them.

As you guys can see.. None of those quotes were made by me... They were simply found and posted in the open for others to see...

After reading this statement I am assuming you have never worked in a busy salon in March, April or May?
