To stop lotion telemarketing calls you have to go to the root cause, a company called Info USA. They, and their affiliated companies, provide the call lists for telemarketers.
A couple of years ago, I got my salon deleted from their master list. I almost never get lotion calls now. AT&T, MCI, Four Seasons, Salon Support . . ., that's a different story. But, no Randies from Squeezeriomilleniumolios. If you invest a little time taking care of this now, you can probably head off the incessant calls during peak season. Call Info USA: 1-800-321-0869. Tell the folks you want to be deleted from their list. You'll be switched to an automated system with options to delete your business, home, etc. Choose option 1 to delete your business. A message tells you to write a letter and send it to the address they provide. Or, you can fax your letter to 402-331-0176. When I did it, there was a voice message system. I assume they switched to a more burdensome method to discourage you from opting out of their database. The more names on the list, the more they can charge their customers for the list. By opting out, you are effectively taking money out of the pockets of Info USA. As I said, it worked for me. Good luck. |
