The problem that we are trying to fight is lotion being sold to the public at below salon cost. This is happening in some beauty supply stores, websites, etc.
If you do a search on this topic you will find that this has been ongoing for some time now. Some manufacturers are stepping up to the plate and protecting salon owner's interests and others are not. |

I was in our local beauty supply store yesterday. They had shelves full of Supre and Body Invest. They had a few bottles of Cal-Tan.
The clerk told me that they can't promise getting anymore Cal_Tan in. I told her that I hoped she couldn't and explained why. She agreed with the idea, saying that she has many hair stylists without any ties to tanning salons coming in and buying lotions. |

good job solid, make it easy for the newcomers to get up to speed on the diversion issues. i wish i had a job like yours, since i love being on the puter. problem is i am not to bright on the subject.
tanned and tattooed, I don't like my clients comming in and blabbing to the whole salon that they got XX lotion at the flea market, or their hairdresser, or internet, or from a friend that bought a home bed at 1/2 the retail. It is suppose to be salon only formula and should be sold in salons only,. we train ourselves on our products so we can give our clients the best product for their skin type, and level of tanning. That is the problem with non salon sells. People will by a product cause so and so said it is good, wel maybe not for you and then the product gets a bad rep. education and tanning is a process. |

I AGREE WITH NOT SELLING IN BEAUTY SUPPLY STORES - WE PAY A HECK OF LOT MORE FOR OUT LICENSE THAN HAIRDRESSERS OR BEAUTY SCHOOL STUDENTS (A TON OF STUDENTS IN MY AREA) AND YET THEY CAN BY "OUR" PRODUCTS AT COST BUT WE CANT BY "THEIR" PRODUCTS PERIOD!!! I DONT THINK THAT IS FAIR - I'M FOREVER HEARING WELL I HAVE BEUTICIAN (SPELLING?) FRIEND, ECT THAT CAN GET THE PRODUCT FOR THEM AT COST. I WAS IN OUR LOCAL BEAUTY SUPPLY STORE YESTERDAY AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT BEEN TOLD THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE "NEW" CAL TAN PRODUCTS - SHE ACTUALLY AGRUED WITH ME WHEN I TOLD HER ABOUT STATING SHE WILL HAVE ALOT OF CUSTOMERS MAD AT HER FOR NOT HAVING IT AND I THOUGHT OH WELL -MAYBE HARSH ON MY PART BUT I HAVE TO MAKE MONEY SOMEWHERE AND SOMEHOW TOO!!!!

Yes.. No bones about it... Beauty Supply has been a hard issue for ALL of us. I have a license in the state of Florida. I can purchase at cost... but I don't carry hair and nail products nor do I offer these products to my clients OR FRIENDS ..
Ever wonder why we are paying 40.00 or 45.00 for a haircut these days? It's because the hairdresser can't make her comission selling her hair products because every food store every Walmart every Wallgreens now carries the SAME products they sold as "professional use only" just a few years ago.. So where does that leave us the Salon/studio owners?? Having to charge more for the service. Think about having to sell a single tan in a regular bed for 12.00 a session just to pay your over head??? Well.. that's what it will come to if we don't stamp out BEAUTY SUPPLY all together. Let's keep together on this one. Cubby Cubz, The Cub reporter........just sayin it like it is. |

I have told my customers they never know what they are getting at a flea market. They can put whatever they want inside those bottles. And that when they buy thier lotions from me they are guarenteed to get the product they buy. That has helped me in the past.
