I just finished addressing the samples that I promised to mail after the show.

One thing I noticed with the list from this show was the number of salon owners that drove in for the show. This year I had tons of salon owners from TN, KY, AL, OH and IN.

I looked at the Chicago list from 1999 and that list is dominated by salons from MI, MN, WI, IL, IN, and OH.

I have the impression that most salon owners drive to the shows location instead of flying.

By having 2 shows, yes we would have increased cost but I think we would see more of our customers esssecially if the shows were in key regions of the tanning marketplace.

I suggest ITA runs a show:

The first in Philadelphia or Altantic City in early October with the goal of attracting NY, NJ, east PA, MD, VA, NC and MA salon owners.

The second in Indianapolis in early November with the goal of attracting IN, west PA, OH, MI, WI, TN, MN, IL salon owners.

Sorry, I live in Florida and we should never do another show here because of the lack of drive up traffic and a fall Las Vegas show may cause me to get divorced becuase las vegas is just too fun to visit 2 times a year for a trade show.

If we do trade shows to attract and show tanners our products then this is the best plan. Exibitors would plan on doing both show and plan their expences accordingly.

Maybe with the same hotel chain for a better rate on rooms, booth setup and expo facilities. We could even have the displays and equipment trucked from one location to the next to save on freight!

What do you think?

What about the west coast people? I love the Vegas show. I'm sure the ITA has their eyes set on Vegas as well.

I did talk to a lot of people that drove to the show. As an exhibitor I understand the cost. I believe that these costs could be spread out over all the shows. I would prefer to meet with customers face to face. It it means having more shows then I'm for that.

So where on the west coast, the salons are so spread out that LA is the only good drive up market.

Las Vegas is the best for a western show but we already go there in June.

I was speaking with the ITA in mind. The shows will eventually be theirs and I was just wondering why you left out the west coast as a venue for trade shows. Sorry if I was vague.

I think it would not necessiarily be better to have two trade shows, but to change the venue every year. Nashville was nice and all, but for those who go every year, it would be nice for a change of scenery. If people want the Opryland hotel, there are several others around the country. Anyway, it is something to think about, I am ready for a new city, with new sights to see.

I think the show should bounce every year I am not fond of Opryland Hotel and their are other big places nationally Plllllss don't forget about us on the west coast I cant afford to go east every year and like to attend the shows. I have never been to the Vegas show because I have heard its not as good as the Nashville show so we do go to nashville. My vote different coast year to year its fair that way. JMI Denise
