Hi all. Just wanted to introduce myself to you all. This is my first post..just found this board. I've owned my salon for 7 yrs now. I'm 45 yrs old, female, mother, grandmother, divorced...just bought out my sister who owned my shop with me for the first 6 yrs. I'm hoping to find useful information here...and meet some new people in my field. Anyway....helllloooooooo all....nice to meet ya!------------------

Thanx for the welcome ! I appreciate it. I've already learned some things by reading some of the posts...this place is great!! When I bought my shop, I was a housewife..knew nothing..had to learn hands on. So there are still things I need to learn. My shop is pretty archaic..I have 6 20 min beds. 28 bulb. And it's been there for 11 yrs. We used to be the only salon in our area, but there have been several go up around the neighborhood in the last couple years. Nicer, bigger, newer, fancier...but I do have my loyal customers who love my beds..and the friendly service they get. I am really scared of folding this year tho...it's really getting competitive, and I don't really know how to compete! Maybe I'll learn somethings here? hopefully......Thanks you all....

Welcome!!If you want to compete, keep doing what you have been doing, but I strongly suggest the addition of some upgrade units...maybe a couple big VHR units. You need to be able to remain competitive with the newer salons. Also, when you relamp the current beds, get the best possible lamps. Yes Welcome to TanTalk. I like you bought my salon completely blind and had to learn as I go.... Been in the biz now 4 years.Since coming on this board I have learned lots of things I would have never ever even given a thought to.... TANTALK ROCKS!!!!!!1
