We use the computer for sales and tanning. We are always connected to the internet. It is just a click away for me or staff to be back here. I have been working a lot, I enjoy being in the salon in the busy part of the spring season.WE HAVE THE BEST CLIENTS IN THE WORLD.THE RELATIONSHIP I HAVE FORMED WITH CLIENTS OVER THE LAST 18 YEARS IS VERY REWARDING.A lot of our clients are very into computers and we have a lot to talk about.I also have internet at home it is on most of the time as well.We have a web cameras in the shop in the reception area and signs posted as to the security cameras, they are for our staff and client safety, It is a deterrent to crime from inside or out.It has made a big difference in product theft. The camera uploads to a wed site and keeps archived images.I can monitor the salon day and night. And if we ever God forbid have a hold up we will have pictures off the premises for the police. The staff and clients feel more secure, it helps me keep an eye on the shop when I am away any where in the world. The lack of product theft has allowed us to lower prices on lotions. We never loose lotions now, well not in the last 3 years that the cameras have been installed. We also have chat on our salon web page, when clients go to our web page they can click on a chat button and the staff on the computer is instantly notified and can voice or text chat directly with the person online. We find the computer very helpful, we also have hours and hours and hours of music in the .mp3 format on the hard drive, it supplies music to the tanning booths, Clients always ask us about our large music selection and enjoy it a lot.The sound systems in the booths are great and the fans are quiet enough that hearing the music is no problem. We did use headphones but the clients prefer the speakers more.We did't know if imposing our music selection on everyone was going to work, but again we were presently surprised. The funny thing is our older clients even like and ask what is playing, a lot of the music is new to them and they like it a lot.We use mood/ environmental as well as new age, well you name it we use it, well except for hard rock Some people say they are coming back because the sound system and music is so great. We also use software that mixed the music for us, It like having a DJ.Clients ask how we do it, We say the computer does it for us I guess you never know how many things can contribute to your salons success. The use of the computer for music has no negative effect on the point of sale software, and frees us to to other things.
