Just a note for those that served in the military. There is always military express loans for anyone that has ever served in the military. That is a reward for your service.

There is finance money available' however you can't open a salon or even buy a salon when you only have $20K. Underfunding is a main reason for a business to fail.

Re: Is it to Late?

I am a returned USAF Veteran and tried to get one of those military loans, but they only exist in very limited circumstances, and I found that I got a better deal from my local bank. I've loved to speak with anyone on here who received one of these military loans.

Service military express and Patriot loans are SBA backed loans, a program offered to Vets, but not used for tanning salons...they fall under the same stringent guidelines as other SBA programs..

THE SBA WILL NO LONGER FINANCE TANNING

Go open a gym, skate around it by offering tanning..beds would be 'equipment financed'

Re: Is it to Late?

My experience has been that the military express loans/Patriot did not work for me. And according to the person I worked with, they are almost never given out. That doesn't mean it won't work for someone else.

I keep reading comments about how banks aren't loaning to tanning salons, but I know this to be untrue because I went through my local bank and received a loan. A better interest rate also. Beat anything the SMA offered.

If someone is looking for money, it may or may not be out there but you won't know til you try. Do not plan your future solely on comments made on this site.

And while it is true you may find a bank willing to loan $$ for a tan salon, but the SBA has made it cleared, no more financing for them due to 'high risk', high amount of loans being foreclosed on by salon owners walking away...since the majority of banks only grant govt backed business loans, chances are you won't get one....of course there are other avenues...but at what price?

Re: Is it to Late?

I am looking to sell my salon in CT, due to some medical issues and an insurance company that has declined my claims. I am currently listed with a broker.... Any other advice to get this thing sold before my medical bills consume me.
