A little about me I've been working in the tanning industry for 4+ years now and I've loved every minute of it! The tanning, the people, the conventions! It's been so much fun. The salon I currently work for I don't see myself moving up the later anytime soon. We have a controlling owner and manager is not able to do scheduling or discipline when she feels it is appropriate. I've been looking a salon to purchase it's a little crap hole I've been it it and it's low class compared to my salon. We have a Desert Sun in the area and another well established salon. I've been reading all the post and stuff. We do have a Teen Tan ban and that has me worried about purchasing or starting my own. I guesss what I'm asking is should I even consider buying a salon or opening my own in the area?

Popular, reputable and well established tanning salon for sale. This is NOT a struggling business. Located in a plaza with other established businesses. The salon has been in business for 11 years +. This would be a great opportunity for those of you with an empty nest or a family with teens. This busy salon is complete and ready to walk in, and will require zero time and money towards build out construction. This would be an immediate revenue stream. Many options for additional revenue such as spray tanning . Yearly membership EFT income $1000 -1300 a month. Rent + triple net+ water/trash/sewage 1950 mo. 5 yr lease with 4 remaining... fully transferrable. Since this is considered an high risk business by financial institutions, it is best financed with your own money or personal loan. I will not be financing the buyer as i want cashed out and moving out of state. Will share details with qualified buyers, very serious inquiries only please. I could say this. If a business, any business, was a very successful business, and worth more than any value, a serious business owner would not list it for sale on CL.

That is like looking to buy a luxury plane advertised in The Penny Saver.

Any serious seller, as well as a serious buyer would usually go thru a business broker who has the 'tools, experience,evaluations, and network' to successfully list/sell a business with the ability of turning back the 'dogs'.

I say this, because I was once a business broker. I would not ever buy a business advertised in CL...not to say there are not good deals...used furniture and flea market stuff...certainly not a business..at least a very successful one..

This guy is BS-ing. If he was 'moving out of state', how or why would he be willing to stay on for up to 2 months to train. Some serious telltale BS most sellers used, 'moving', 'pregnant', 'time spent with family'..and having the ability of EFT membership of a $1,00-1,300 a month is not much..I sense this business is a failure and somebody is looking to pass along their misery to an unsuspecting and gullible buyer.

The argument here could be that, people looking to buy something, anything, first go to CL. It's utmost on peoples' minds to check CL.

It costs nothing, and it's worth a try.

Update. He hasn't emailed me back yet. I think I shouldn't even make an offer if I where in the ball park estimate what would you guys offer? It's in a very busy strip mall and though it's about two blocks down from another big salon.

Give me a call and I will discuss in more detail how to evaluate this opportunity and if it is something you can be successful at.

There are different reasons for buying a business. For some it is as simple as wanting to buy a job doing something they enjoy doing. For others and a better reason in my estimation is they want to own a successful business and maximize income potential.

First you must determine if you are financially able to not only buy the business but also to operate the business. If you can only put enough money together to buy the business but do not have funds to make needed changes and operate the business, you become the proud new owner of a failing business and will be forced to close in a very short period of time.

These are all things you must determine up front before you make possibly a costly mistake. You must always make informed decisions.
