Re: Adding beds to a small space advice please.

So with a population of 4600 you are doing 3-5 % per day? how many days, are you open and hours a day who running the store must be yourself. I still don't see any $$$ to be made. You are banking on your customer from other business to come , small town will dry up. it will cost you in long run. Just doesn't look good to me, but that your town you know better, good luck, we will be here to help. engelectric@aol.com if you need any electrical advice.

Re: Adding beds to a small space advice please.

All I can say is it is working for me. I am, however, not banking on my "retail customers" to support my tanning, but rather, what has happened is my new clients are in that age range that I was lacking, 24-30 y/o. These girls would rather do the mall shopping thing, but getting them in here to tan has increased my retail sales in jewelry and purses. I also saw a large increase last year at Christmas time because the tanners are coming back for some gifts as well. No one is getting rich here, but its enough to keep me in business.

Oh, and I should have mentioned that the pop is my small town and does not include the surrounding county. You will only find one, maybe if you're lucky 2, beds in hair salons scattered around the surrounding counties. These are usually 10+ y/o beds. I am the only Tanning Salon in a 30-40 mile radius so I'm able to pull from the outlying areas.

Right now our hours are 9-8 Mon-Fri, 9-5 Sat. When school starts back up we will cut our hours a little bit. I do have a couple part-timers so I can have some evenings and Saturdays off once in a while.
