Bed suggestions

I currently own a clothing boutique and am getting a much larger building soon. I was wanting to put in a couple of beds since I already attract this type of clientele. I have no idea which types of beds to start with. I thought about finding a lay down and a stand up. My husband said something about a spray tan booth.
There is a salon selling out close with 4 beds. A standup for $5000, and 3 lay downs for $4500: Starpower vsr, Solaris 336, and a SunStar 432. I don't know how much they are worh but she said they are 5 years old.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: Bed suggestions

They are ets beds ( www.etstan.com ). They have received a bad rap over the years on these boards, but, that is a whole different story. However, today they are owned by Ergoline, a world leader in the industry. They are good beds for what you need, but models discontinued, replaced with newer, better as seen on web site

If the 3 laydowns, the Starpower, Solaris 336, Sunstar are a total of $4500, and beds are 5 years old, I'd offer $3800, no more than 4K. Much depends on condition,# of hours etc.
Most likely the lamps would need changing. In fact, unless they have a few hours on them, change them anyway. That could be an expense, at about $18-22 per lamp. There are 36 lamps in the Solaris, 32 in Sunstar, and I believe 48-52 in the Starpower...so do the math. That does not include facial lamps.
I would skip on the Sunstar and standup, if you were set on these beds. Hardly anybody uses a standup

You may be better off buying pre-owned newer beds from a reputable dealer, which could include a warranty and set-up. You need to be sure you have the required power and AC to run these beds. Another reason to go thru a dealer. They could better advise on need.

Check to see were other tanning salon are, if within 1 to 3 Miles,,I would just keep doing what your doing and maybe something else, why, the other store all they sell is tanning, they are expert in selling tanning and what good as far as judging skin tpye, Lotion what the best for skin type, knowing how long to put someone in the tanning equipment, this is not give me money and go to that unit and oh by the way clean it after use,you really need to do your homework , make sure you are going to put the time into learning the tanng business, noise, smell heat are all factor,

Re: Bed suggestions

There aren't any tanning salons within at least 30 minutes drive from here. There is a daycare here that has a bed and they stay very booked. I think there are two at the gym but the guys harass the girls that tan there so they don't feel safe. Learning and research I don't mind at all. That's one reason I'm on here, to learn from people who have already had experience.

Re: Bed suggestions

Yes, that's one reason I thought about putting in a few. I'd like to give people a nice professional place to go. I'll have a very large sectioned off area to put tanning rooms apart from my clothing area.
