Rep Power: 0 | Grand Re-Opening After almost 9 years in the industry I bought an existing salon- not just any existing salon but one that had been in business for 31 years- and took over January 1. GREAT following! Last weekend we had our Grand Re-Opening Weekend and it was phenominal! Didn't discount anything, but added to a lot of things. Saw dozens of new clients, new EFT's and sold everything. I was glad to see my inherited staff really tuned into the customer and sold things all over the board! So my question is- does anyone feel like this season is starting differently? I know the buzz of the new salon definately generated some extra interest but I feel like there is a different vibe. Curious what everyone thinks. Happy Tanning, Mary

Rep Power: 13 | Re: Grand Re-Opening I know locally my friends that are still in UV tanning are much busier than years past. BUT they have about 25% of the competition they had in years past as well. The market is much less saturated. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Grand Re-Opening Happy so far, and yes: a little unexpectedly better than we planned. The economy being what it is and gas costing $4.30 a gallon for basic in San Diego. Our airbrush tanning coupons (with email signup, of course) and first timer specials seem to have really helped, but the early surge seems to be a trend across the board. (Knock on wood) Yay! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Grand Re-Opening January was up 19%. February up 28% and we nose dived too the first 4 days of March but coming back today. Getting a lot of new customers in and have had several (5 or 6) parents come in to sign up their kids for sessions for acne, psoriasis and one Mom said for her self esteem. Makes hopeful that people are sick and tired of being told what to do and making their own choices. These Moms were educated and prepared when they walked in. We'll see how the latest legislation might affect us if passed- HB1051 in Maryland is seeking 6% sales tax on a slew of services to include indoor tanning! 16% if passed!?!?!?!!?!?!?!
