If yes then that is fantastic.

As far as a wager tough to verify really... but my cats are up for grabs I would wager them and I might get the added benefit of no longer being walked on in the middle of the night. A win win.

I think the average person, who is running a single tanning location and trying to make a decent living doing it, isn't going to be able to tan people 7 days for $7 and expect to make it in this business against a large operation who can do ridiculous specials and basically break even until these people go out of business. This is not some new cool marketing strategy, it is cutthroat business 101. They may always have the gimmicks and specials but I do think there will always be alternatives to big box mass retailers; not 3 or 4, but one who shoots straight with customers and is consistent, will survive.

You are wrong yet again Peach.

It is an intro deal; you can only buy it once.

You continue to lack the basic understanding that what you sell as a promo offer is not what you end up making off that customer. It is a marketing tool to get them in the door, try all your equipment and then sign them up for the EFT that matches their taste in tanning.

Good lord man, how can you not grasp this concept?

Update to Lucky '7, All went just like I wanted it too , after the special have more people coming in knowing that they are getting a better Tan and Service at my store then competitor. When the new salon open went with it 500 customers, I had to figure a way to recoupe some of them and that were I came up with the Luck'7. Now I am going to continue with all unit 1 month including spray tanning for 99.99 . All this dose is get people talking and you will see business start improving in 2 week. You got to do the direct mailing I went with a new paper Wicket Local.What they do is get a bunch of business and put on or in a booklet and mail to all home , something you and I would look at. Just remember that you will not make your $$$ back on ad but will see more customer come thru the door.

We do the "lucky 7" in a different way. We are the home of the $3 tans (anytime in a base bed), but they can buy the 7 come 11 for only $7 in any bed, and with that, 4 spray tans for only $11 each.

This type of offer if managed properly is very effective. There are a number of ways to structure it based on your specific salon. The point is to bring a new tanner to your salon and have them there long enough to create a relation ship and allow the tanner to experience all that your salon has to offer. More often than not this tanner becomes a member. The initial offer pays off in the long run. it is not as simple as it app[ears on the surface.

So many salon owners do not appreciate the income that is generated by this type of marketing. At the end of the year the income that is generated is substantial. It in no way devalues tanning. The more you know about how to generate traffic and income the more profitable your salon will become.

Often a salon owner feels they are loosing business because a salon like Sun Tan City is giving tanning away. When in fact you are loosing tanners because the salon structure, equipment mix and other factors that the tanner is exposed to is a much higher standard than what you offer. through advertising efforts and specials that are offered insure that all tanners in a market will visit that salon and establish in their mind what the now expect from their tanning salon.

This is why change and an exerted effort to keep pace or even determine the current standard in your market is so important.
