Sunease 2000 Software

Hello all. I am in the process of purchasing a tanning salon. I have seen that the computer uses FST's Sunease 2000 software to keep track of all the bed functions, maintenance, and salon inventory and total costs.

Does anyone have experience with this software? Pros and Cons? In going through the financials, I have seen a few things that would make me believe the software has some 'bugs'. I welcome all comments.

Many thanks.

Re: Sunease 2000 Software

We had Sunease when we first opened up. It's an easy program, but has a lot to be desired in reports and other functionality. We are no longer using that program now.
While it is better than not having a computer program, it is not much better them not having a computer program. I would suggest some research on the other programs available as each salon owner will like one thing over another than what the next salon is using.

Re: Sunease 2000 Software

Michelle,
Would you mind elobrating on the program and the lack or report generation, as you describe. In going through the salons we wish to purchase, I noticed this program was installed. The owner claims that it is a paid for program, unlike a monthly surcharge for the use of Helios, etc.

What were your main reasons for getting rid of the Sunease program?

Many thanks for your assistance.

Re: Sunease 2000 Software

It is a very basic system. They offer it for free for the first year and then if you want to keep it it is around $400. The cheapest out there.
The reports are very basic, it will allow you to have 2 seperate tax areas, but it is either on or off. So for your product sales, you will have to subtract the 10% and keep that in mind for when you are doing your books. Also, you can only sell 3 packages to a customer at 1 time, so if they have a membership package and want to purchase 10 upgrades you will have to manually combine all of the sessions and then go in an sell in the system 1 at a time after the first 2. Not very pro-active in my opinion.
I didn't find that you could import it to quickbooks either (or at least not the version we had). If you wanted to get into any kind of specific reporting, it is either really hard to figure out how to get into it, or the reports don't exist.
There really hasn't been any kind of support for it either. Anytime I had asked a question I was advised to go to the manual. The manual just showed us what the reports were, not how to get to them or what they showed.
All around, very unimpressed. If I had known it when I first went in, I would have just started with the Sunlync that I am now on.
Hope this helps you out.

Re: Sunease 2000 Software

Does anyone know how to extract data entered into the trial version of SunEase 2k ?
And will the program lock up on the expiration date?

I have used sunease for 20 years. it is simple and cheap and does everything you need for it to do. Plus, it is very reliable-the most important thing. If you have a copy, you can upgrade for free and do not have to pay monthly fees or be connected to the internet to use it.
