Besides, when I get some ad, it is considered junk, and immediately trashed.. with 6,000 post offices closing, why trust a failing system to get out your message... Social media...the new way to do biz.. IMO/ the PO is going the way of yellow pages and newspapers.. |

Its not like a even a year ago fb continues to lose traction as folks get bored with it or find better ways to connect. This is a bottomless pit as today there is plus and fb both huge plus tumbler and pinterest list will be dozens long in two years and imo there will no longer be a reliable place to capture like fb has been last 4 years. |

Rep Power: 14 | Re: Post card mail out fb has been a blessing for me..ads are cheap to run, reaction to ads/page etc are beyond any YP ad/mailouts / print ads and anything from the 'stone age'. Is fb boring? Totally, but like a business website, you need to keep it active/updated and grab/maintain attention...when fb does fizzle out, there no doubt will be the 'next gen' to replace it...in fact, Google and Yahoo are rumored to be planning on it Until then, I am ON IT. |

Advertising or the lack of is one of the main reasons a salon may be struggling. There are three distinct advertising seasons. We are now in the time of year that you should be reaching out to your data base by way of text, email, and social networks. Mining for new tanners by way of post card should be done just prior to the busy season to the first or second month of the busy season. If you have properly promoted your salon during the active season, you should now be taking advantage of the affordable means of reaching your data base in an effort to keep the tanners active, At this time of year you should be promoting heavily, spray tanning that will thrive during the sumer months as well as short term value packages for UV tanning. Lotion promotions and the type of contact that rewards your tanners and keeps them on a tanning routine. The most important task for you and your staff is maintaining an updated data base with cell phone, email and physical address. Through rewards it is important to enlist your clients to look forward to your promotions and contact. After salon structure, a marketing strategy that is religiously followed will keep your salon active year round. Many salon operators, because they feel there is no business available during the sumer and fall, stop marketing. The fact is that your advertising efforts should be greater during the slower season. What you believe to be true can be reality based on your effort or lack of effort. | |

Rep Power: 14 | Re: Post card mail out "One free tan" is never a good offer (need a multiple visit offer to try to give you time to get them committed) and especially now as the "season" is ending and people are less interested in tanning. @sunsally What is a good example of multiple visit intro or offer that has worked well for you? |
