It seems that openning a salon would be pointless unless you have stupid money to blow. It's sad because this town needs a salon that would provide customers with a better tanning experience.
Nope wont happen. You can not get a loan for a tanning salon without assets. with that population you have 2800 people to tan. Then split that between 4 salons, that is 700 people per salon...good luck with that!

Re: Am I missing something?

I am willing to bet that those salons that go up for sale at 140K are way over priced too. They would have to be making decent money in order for a smart investor/buyer to pay that much for it.

Is the place you are at making money through out the year? Or is it just breaking even?

You will be better suited to do what you want by finding a salon for sale and making it yours and you will have an instant database from the start.

I was also going to suggest that you go apply for a job at one of the other salons as Manager - you may not be so frustrated if you work for a company that is run correctly.

Best of luck to you in your decision though.
