I am working with Stephen Underhill as I write this post. He has been an invaluable asset to me. He doesn't have to be local to do what he does best. I provided him with several rental options, and he has been able to do what I couldn't. He's also quite the motivator. I'm so glad I decided to trust in his skills, because he's making my job very easy.

You can get these same reports form the local chambers of commerce or you get them from many real estate agents or mall operators in the local areas.

Actually that is not true. What you get from a real estate agent or chamber of commerce is not anything remotely like what I provide. I am simply providing reports custom designed for our industry using the most up to date information available. I gain nothing by giving you these reports, They are free as so many of you know because I have provided them for you. Accurate up to date demographic reports are important no matter where you get them. If you need a report from me, simply ask.

Demographics & Demographic Evaluation
Many important decisions are made based on demographics. Your business plan, income projections and future growth are based on demographics. My custom designed tanning salon demographic reports are provided by Demographics Now, the most comprehensive demographic source in the US. When choosing the best possible location for your salon or evaluating an existing salons location you must depend on your demographic report. A typical tanning salon will draw its client base from a three mile radius. Tanners will tan within three miles of where they live not where they work. Therefore it is important that there are as many roof tops within one, two and three miles as possible with the one mile radius being very important. Tanning is a destination business so there is no such thing as drive buy business. Larger shopping centers with anchors are no more desirable than a smaller strip center. In fact if there is adequate parking in the smaller strip center and the center has easy accessibility the smaller center is a better choice. The only business that will increase business in a tanning center is a fitness center. If you are in a small town isolated from other towns your salon will draw from a larger radius. There are many other points that should be considered when evaluating your demographic report.

Site Evaluations
The location of your business can be the difference between success and failure in the tanning industry. There are many things to look for when choosing a tanning salon location that you would not be aware of unless you have owned a successful salon before. Many salons that are struggling or failing are doing so due to poor site selection. Every step of creating a successful salon is important and it starts with site selection.

Do you know your market? How long has it been since you looked at the demographics in your market? The more you know the better decisions you can make. I still provide free reports to anyone that request them. Just email me with your request along with the address you want the report for.

Steve has given me some valuable information in the pass and respect his interest in helping me and other. As a business men we cannot do everything ourselves ,some time it call for other to voice or help with there knowledge, as we do here on Tan Talk. We come to the tanning site for Idea and information. Thank Steve for all your help, I will be reaching out to you again , but as you know my life is busy. one day my friend one day...lol
