Rep Power: 0 | How do I build a client base? I am new to the tanning industry. I recently bought a Maximist, and have sprayed a couple people, and I really like it! I want to build a client base for mobile spray tanning but don't know how to without being too pushy or attract strangers without meeting them prior. Can anyone share their experiences or advise on what I can do to build a business? Much appreciated!!! :) |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: How do I build a client base? I would try to join a BNI group in my area as well as the Chamber of Commerce to get your name out in the community. The more you put into BNI and the Chamber the more you are going to get out of them. Here is a tip, when you are at the networking functions you aren't trying to sell your services to the other owners, just let them know what you do. It is more about them telling others about you. You can also list free on craigslist.com by clicking on the city nearest you. I would be sure to wirelessly accept credit cards because you wouldn't want to spray someone and when it comes time to pay they surprise you with a card. I would also setup some custom gift cards. I take my gift cards to local hair salons loaded with a few dollars on each one (the money doesn't actually come out of my account until they use the cards!). The hair salons can then run a special like $5 tanning gift card with any cut and color. It is a win, win situation for both the salon and you. Remember the more people that know about your business the more business you will get. Good Luck! You can order the gift cards (think first order is free) and setup to accept cards with free machine at www.acceptpaymentsnow.net |

Also bridal events are a great way to meet a lot of potential clients. Tanning a High School girl a couple weeks before prom & sending her to school with your business cards is also a good way to ensure all her friends will want a tan for prom to look as great as she does :-) & if you tan her a couple of weeks before it gives plenty of time for advertising & for the girls to book their appointments. |
