Rep Power: 0 | Business slowing down, already? Hi everyone. I just opened my tanning salon on March 26th. I'm just interested in others opinions about how I am doing. New at this, and have read tons of information on this site, so I know all about JASON and all the salons that have closed. I have grossed $10,000. since open and have $5oo.oo/mth EFTs. My overhead is around $3,000 avg./mth. We have a line of credit for $10,000 that I am sure I will need for JASON. My husband has a job and has an opportunity to relocate, which would give me a reason to sell the salon now, if I even could. I would appreciate any responses. |

She's a new salon, With only a few months behind her. Thats why she's slowing already. She will have a rough jason. She should have opened no later than November. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Business slowing down, already? Rent $1,300, Payroll $500 Utilities $400 Bank loan $500 I have 9 tanning beds and the Mystic HD spray tan . I'm doing the best I can at marketing. We did a "deal of the day" for the Mystic Spray tans for $10 and sold 76 to use for advertising. The clients like our prices and think the salon is nice and personable. We are definately in the best location, compared to the other salons. Most of our clients have come in because they drove by and saw the signs. I just don't know if I should stick it out to loose our last dime and hope for a better busy season next year...Things just slowed down so quickly. I would rather try to sell the business and get something out of it and cut my losses now, than go bankrupt |

Rep Power: 23 | Re: Business slowing down, already? You have nothing to sell............. You have only been open since march, the last of march. You could sell the beds if not leased or under the banks control. Get rid of the payroll by mid June. Work the salon yourself until next Nov or Dec. when things will start to pick up again. Lots of us had to be slaves to our stores for the first couple of years. I worked mine from 8am to midnight for a long time. Pray for a crappy summer. Rent and payroll kill most salons, Your rent is not bad. If your not behind in rent, Watch it closely, If it looks like you could get behind, Go to the landlord and see if you can adjust it to pay less during jason and more in season. |
