Rep Power: 0 | Hey people plz give me some advice on a closed salon im interested in!! There is a tanning salon that closed recently and they are offering it with 6 tanning beds but has 9 rooms. and also an extra room with washer and dryer/storage. it is for rent for $2,200 a month (which i kinda think it is alot). it closed down because the previous owners got in trouble with the law. it looked like it was a succesful salon but i am quite nervous about getting a lease on it! it was the only place to tan in this town. it is in a very cute shopping center here in NC. my husband owns a restaurant next door and tells me to go for it but i really think the rent is pretty high. plz let me know what u people think!!?? |

You are going to get a lot of doom and gloom people telling you to run but it's all about start up costs. If you can get this place for close to nothing (which is what a closed salon is worth) then go for it. I have a feeling the equipment is all sunvision for some reason... |

Granted I am packed in but if I had more than double the space, I would have 16-20 beds in there. I pay $1400 a month for 1200 $14sqft in a very busy shopping center next to Panera bread, Michaels, and PetCo. If it is 3000 sqft my advice ( I a new new new to this) If you have 3000 sqft and only 9 beds you're paying way too much for that space. You will have 28,000 going out in rent and most likely some type of CAM. everything else and wages another 20-28K. Having 6 beds will be hard to break even or little profit. I got an entire client list and without some creative advertising and new beds in my two empty rooms it will be a tuff year. |
