Thank you for you advise. I’ve worked in a tanning salon as a receptionist on and off for the past 10 years. The owner is now looking to sell. I told her I would be interested. Here’s the problem, her lease is up and she is on a month to month basis. She wants me to send a letter of intent to the landlord and renegotiate the lease. I told her I would not do that without her tax returns for my accountant.

Here’s a little about the salon. It has 5beds

1. Tanses T-52
2. Tanses T-72
3. Sunboard
4. Malibu
5. Royal Sun

There is an upstairs to the salon which is a hair studio. There are 5 hairdressers and they just pay rent ($600)

Do you think this is a good investment?

we are self employed now. we own a construction company and have since 2001. What i meant by that statement was that its very scary to put 50-100k in a business not knowing if it will succeed or not. i would hate to lose that much money. To start up the construction company was very minimal upfront and money through out the years versus with this salon 50-100k up front to start. thats what i meant.

Take the money you'd put into this tanning idea and re-invest into your construction biz..

You'd be better off financilly..

Tanning is a rapidly fading business..more states banning under 18yo, and that is the age group that supports it..
