Rep Power: 0 | Re: what is the best software? I am in the same boat. I just bought a tanning salon and the previous owner had the tan track program already installed. No one used it though, I have been playing around with it Its a very easy to use program but, I was quoted $375 for a receipt printer and bought it. They billed me $420.00, I am just waiting to find out why. I have searched other programs and Tan Track seems to be the one to go with I really like it. I am sure there are problems with all of them. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: what is the best software? Right now I'm in renovate, upgrade and reopen mode with my micro salon. I've been searching and reviewing tanning salon software. I'm finding more out there than I thought I would. I've tried a few demos but found them focused on salons who sell minutes rather than sessions. At this point I've not explored if you can choose options and turn off those you don't need. Also, a lot of the software out there is designed for hair salons who also offer tanning so the whole focus is wrong for me. I use QuickbooksPro for my accounting, so I want something that will integrate with that or do what it does in addition to keeping my client base data and tracking the hours on my bed lamps, inventory etc. So at this point I'm still exploring. I think wondering what software is " best" for this industry depends upon a lot of other things. For instance the size of the business, the level of computer literacy, the number of staff etc. Some like Helios, some TanTrack, others like Advantage, and so on. I only want to buy this software once... so I'm going to keep searching at this point. Somewhere out there someone has made a software for a SMALL business... surely! Any one who has any advice please... offer it. :)

Rep Power: 20 | Re: what is the best software? Just some info... TanTrack does work with Points, Minutes, Sessions, Unlimited, Single Session Upgrades, and Full Package upgrades. We try our best to accomodate everyone. There are some non-tanning (beauty industry) software out there that have tanning like features but are very weak in that many do not connect to timers or have limited offerings with regards to package types and support for single visit upgrades. Those systems too often times do not store all of the data that a regulated state would be required to store and may also not support the new Federal Tan Tax either.

Rep Power: 14 | Re: what is the best software? Ticker, Tantrack actually does fairly well for any salon by the way. It is by far the most cost effective of all the softwares out there in my opinion. It is also extremely user friendly. I don't really have to even train the staff very much on the program. You can literally just show them once and they will be comfortable with it. So if you have a microsalon concept it will be sufficient for your needs. We have the program right now in our salon and it functions well. We do wish the reports went a little more in depth sometimes and we do also have a wishlist of features with the software but you really can't beat the price and the tech support is great. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: what is the best software? Thank you Tanatcocobeach and Nichesoft. Its good to get some insight from people using a program. I've been in touch with a Sales Rep and they're doing a pricing up for me based on what I need. No sense buying way beyond my means. This site I found by accident and I've been roaming the forums learning all sorts and getting ideas for do-able add-ons. such as body lotions and things that mesh with tanning. I see lots on names online but few comments for 2011. Unless they're all talking somewhere else. LOL Anyhow, my thanks for your comments. :)

Rep Power: 0 | Re: what is the best software? Thanks Delany. I was wondering because of that HUGE list of names on the main page. I guess maybe some people are logged on here and idling or reading older posts for the info in them. Maybe this forum needs its own chat box or something. Seems to me it would be a lot faster. People here are very helpful though, so that's a plus. :)
