Hi! I'm new to the Industry and was wondering... what interesting or cool promotions do you offer? I'm planning to open in late September in time for Homecoming (I'm 2 blocks from a high school). I know the busy season tends to start in Nov/Dec, so I just wanted some great promos to promote buzz about my new salon. FYI- I'm also a nail tech and sunless spray tech so any promos on them also??

If you have tanning beds, offer a $10.00, 1st Month student special (no contracts).
Airbrush Specials: $19.00 (Students Only w/VALID I.D.)
Also, visit the school, meet the principal and ask about their "Business" advertisment options, ask if you can leave some flyers for the students in the commons area.

Something we've been doing lately is starting EVERYBODY out on the highest level of tanning and then lowering their level by the week, even if they purchase only the basic tanning level beds. Once they've used the best and then downgrade to the lowest level, they always want to go back to the more advanced equipment and are willing to shell out more money...AND! They didn't get 'Pressured' to upgrade and you won't have to convince them that the more expensive tanning beds are worth the money when they've never seen the results first hand.

i offer 5.00 off any package and 10% off bottle of lotion and it's working real good this time of year. I also do 5.00 off the spray tans so they get them for 20.00

I'm super new to this too, but i've been brainstorming ideas as well. I'm from an extremely small area and i do mobile tans. My town is pop 400 and the closest neighboring town is 15 miles away and small as well. I have to be extremely creative with marketing. Here are a few seasonal ideas i've come up with.
<3 Back to school discount (your choice on amount) to put in the teachers mailboxes at your local schools (H.S., middle, elementary) if they don't use it, at least thats one more person you have networked to. win win
<3 You could also do this for the students with the beginning of each seasonal sport or school activity. OR break it up throughout the year into groups (ie. Basketball teams, Cheerleading squads, drama club, etc..) (this could be HUGE) and again, networking/marketing
<3 *Prom Season* I plan to give surrounding schools discounts. Each school will have a certain day before prom they can make an appointment to use their discount. This way, i'm not driving from here to there and back 1000 times. The call and book their time and i will fill them in accordingly.
<3 This is something i do with my friends to test out new solutions. Tanning parties. Obviously for testing i do it free. BUT as a promotion you could bank. Hostess gets a FREE spray tan with a minimum of 4-5 guests. (they will pay for theirs) you can choose if you want to do theirs full price or discounted as well.
