Bought an existing salon over 2 months ago that a few years back use to do spray tanning by hand. They stopped doing it. Our thoughts from feedback and calls we get inquiring about spray tanning either machine or by hand is that we not only need to offer both at our salon but will need will only increase in years to come.

There are a few different systems I see for sale on this site, local salons closing, ebay, etc. We are looking to the experienced experts at there (which we are not) to help us make an informed decision on what direction to go.

I see many Mystic units for sale. I have found some locally that are 5-8 years old and they seem to think that they can get around $5,000 for. I also see Versa Spa systems that are a little more pricey. Some other system names come up but not as much.

If you were to get into the spray tanning today, what brand would you look at to purchase? What are questions to ask about unit and how do measure use (hours, minutes, tans)?

How much should these units be going for. Is a 8 year old Mystic worth $5,000? I also have reservation about purchasing from someone that is 300 miles or more away that I am putting my faith that the information they are giving me is accurate, as well as possible logistic nightmares vs trying to find one more local.

ANY input from all would be very helpful that in a nutshell "We are clueless". We are starting to go into local salons now and look at what they have and getting ready to try ourselves and even pay for our employees to try so we get a better idea.

Side note. We found a 2004 Mystic for $2000 disassembled. Seller said works great, closed salon and will deliver and set up for $700. What questions do we ask? Good deal?
