Like I have said in previous posts coming in to this business new at this point in the game will be putting yourself at a huge disadvantage, there is zero room for trial and error. You are going to need tons of working capitol to be able to afford those trial and errors. What works for one salon may not work at yours. When I first opened I worked ALL the hours open to clsoe for about a year. 7 days a week 6 am-9 pm as time went on I was obviously able to modify those hours, and I did those hours to accomodate swing shift workers, it was a huge sacrafice The majority of salon ownes are not doing GREAT and aren't going to recommend anyone get into the business and those doing GREAT probably wont either since they see what is happening accross the board. |

That's true. And I would be VERY wary of someone "lurking" here who private messages a brand new person to this site, telling you not to trust the people who post publicly. I almost never private message. The point of a site like this is to share things with the group. Thats how everyone benefits. You have apparently gathered your information and feel confident in your decision to move forward. When you started this post, I didn't understand that, hence my comments about not making a "break or no break" decision over something as irrelevant as PCA. Congrats and welcome! I hope you will continue to post about your successes as you transition from "soon to be salon owner" to "entrepreneur"! | |

Rep Power: 13 | Re: Will You Share Your PCA Please? It's a seasonal statistic since you obviously charge more in-season then out of season. It also varies by demographics and competitive stat. So one salons great number may be unattainable for another it's a tough/impossible like compare. Plus your operational costs vary all over the place. So the stat only has internal value based on market conditions. |
