I do agree an education will only further your progress and open up more opportunities combined with your desire and willingness to learn! Good luck to you! |

Unhappy people will always try to bring you down. They'll cut you down to make them self feel better about the hole in their life. People will tell you to ignore it, be can you really? Its best to leave what is bring you down no matter how hard you think it will be. If college gives you this escape that go for it. Do not stay in this environment while attending school because it'll do nothing but bring you down. Be careful in what you define as success. I know people making a fifth of what I do who are happier than me...

Re: ?????? Very true...its just always been one of my goals to get a college degree...And its very hard to ignore people when they say that to you cause its always gonna be there in the back of your mind and your going to dwell on it. I just want to achieve my goals and dreams. Yes it is probably a waste to go and get out and just open up a salon but i look at it this way i'm going to have the education to be able to know how to run a business..i dont want to get into a business with no experience. Just like my teacher told me today there is alot people dont know about running a business because they didnt get the education they needed.

The reason a lot of people fail is because they go in with a lack of money. This business will kill you if you're not prepared for slow season. If you put the time in, you can learn nearly everything you need to run a profitable salon in the first year. You'll learn new and better things a long the way, but the baisics can be had quickly. You'll never know enough to run a business without running one. Don't give up if you fail. Failure will happen to you at some point in life. If you give up.... Well then you're just doing what everyone said you would.

I have a teaching degree plus degrees in digital electronics and AutoCad and own a tanning salon. There are a few months that you won't be busy in the tanning salon and with an education you may be able to do additional things that will make you some additional money. |
