Rep Power: 0 | How to compete against a franchise? In our pursute to purchase an existing tanning salon I am curious how others compete against the franchise salons. We do have a Planet Beach and a Tranquility in our town. Let me know what you have done that works and what does not work. |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: How to compete against a franchise? Find a used Leonardo HP (you can probably get one real cheap now!)and have it delivered to them as a gift from their corporate. Then give it 3 or 4 months and ......POOF.... no more franchise salon. |

Rep Power: 18 | Re: How to compete against a franchise? I think because they are a franchise customers have convenience in tanning. They can tan in any of their locations. That is what the chain in our area offers. You can't compete against that if you have only 1 location. They have 5 salons in our area. But, you can compete with everything else, your staff, cleanliness, beds and prices. Make sure your lamps are changed. |

Offer skincare services, teeth whitening. Concentrate on your business and your business will take care of you. Don't waste too much time worrying about the competition, worry about your business plan. Go, Fight, Win, Kill

Rep Power: 21 | Re: How to compete against a franchise? If you have a proven business model, the difference between you and a franchise is that you keep your profits instead of giving them to the franchiser. You don't have to be a franchise to look like a franchise. |

Planet beach only lasted 3 years here. Its easy..cut their eft prices in half, and do no cancel fee.Use better equipment, and keep your lamps changed, along with motivated aggressive employees that strive for sales, and excellent customer service.Educate your staff to the fullest!Be sure they know what they are talking about in confidence with every customer that comes in!Knowledge is power, and power is money:) We had fun smashing them! |
