Rep Power: 0 | Help please I'm new to the tanning industry. Because I'm a pharmacist, I have a pretty good understanding about tanning and the effects it has on the body. However, there's still a lot I need to know. I'm opening up a women's fitness center in January 2009. Originally, my idea was to open up a facility that provided women with a holistic approach to health and fitness. With my pharmacy background, I wanted to incorporate natural dietary supplements, exercise, nutritional foods, an infrared sauna and even customized natural hormones. Basically, I wanted to educate women on the benefits of natural alternatives as compared to prescription medications, fad diets, etc. However, I quickly found out the tanning beds were a must. After talking with many potential clients, almost every one of them was concerned about tanning. I have two 2005 Tanses T32F800 beds. Honestly, when I purchased them I knew nothing about them (not the best idea I know, but I got them in a package deal). After doing some reading on here, I'm assuming they're considered level 1 beds?!? Are they decent beds? There's only one other tanning salon in my area (small town central Illinois) which has a 10 minute bed and a 20 minute bed so I don't need impressive beds to compete. Anyways, I've read the stickies on here. Is there any good basic FAQ's that I should know about? A good post that's helpful to new owners, especially about what lotions to buy, software, etc? A good training manual? After reading some threads on here, I'm going to have my manager Smart-Tan certified. I apologize for my ignorance. I'm just trying to find some quick resources because my deadline is quickly approaching. Thanks for all the help! |

Its more of how you set up your salon to create your levels....generally speaking though a 15-20 minute bed would be a level 1 my levels are based on lamp wattage Level 1)-100 2)160 3)200 4)220 my comps levels are based on session time all 160 watt machines but the higher levels have more lamps,so a shorter session is required. use the search function to get info and learn. post often!

Majority of money makers are the 160W beds, not the 100W. I have 2 x 52/100W as well as 3 x 52/160W tanses...they are great beds. I'm also selling them. If you are interested, let me know.
