The equipement might or might not matter IMO, what are the main clients? I have beds that are newer but not as popular with other salons. If the beds look nice and tan well, I would not worry much about them for now unless you are after high end clients. Miney tan well and look nice so the people come in. I'd say like above....net profit? And make sure this is including staffing. If it makes $20,000 a year but has no payroll expense it is not worth much at all. You need to look at the net assuming you paid a staff at least min wage to run it all hours. I did that to mine and paid just under 2.5 times the net which seemed to be good. Really good to me since I love the location. Oh and what about lease details and electric? My overhead is pretty low so I can handle the slow time (now) without needed to use too much of my own $. It will be more important for you since right now is getting to the slow season for most. |
