Re: Starter beds

Are you not going to have any 20 min beds?

I heart my TA beds.

Re: Starter beds

The Sunstar 30/3F is 20 minutes I believe.

In 5 years 15 will be the norm I think. Remember 30 was once the typical bed time.

Re: Starter beds

Yes, I am going to get (1) twnety minute bed also. Just want to make sure to get atleast 32 lamp beds as this is what all my cometition carries. I figure by mostly having 15 min beds this amy put me a little ablove them as I know they have mostly 20 min beds.

What would be a good bed for my upgrade as the TA are going to be my level 2 beds and the 20 minute bed my level 1 base beds. Need to find a level 3 or ugrdae bed.

Thanks for you input.

Re: Starter beds

Also, none of the TA beds have facials. Do I need to have facials on the base bed and upgrade bed. I have had mixed comments from future customers about facials. Some like some dont and say they get tanned anyway without faials because of good lamps. Any suggestions.

Re: Starter beds

I would want facials in beds by the second level. All of our beds have facials in them. In the dr. mueller elixir beds your facials are adjustable if the customer doesn't want them that strong. From what I've read about TA beds and from my own experience they are reliable. I don't have a problem with offering 20 minute beds other then you have your customers longer in your salon. Our longest time is 15 mins.

Re: Starter beds

You do need facials at the entry level. Even if your competitor does'nt have facials now that will be the next move by him or both or your competition to come. Why buy twice?

TAN AMERICA VIP GOLD HO/SE (no facial)15 min
TAN AMERICA VIP3200/VHO (no facial)15 min
Sunstar 44(10 minute bed w/160 watt lamps)no facials
Sunstar 30 w/3 Facials

This is an odd mish-mash of equipment that will be hard to "sell" to clients.

Your "weakest" bed is the Sunstar 30 (assuming 100W as most Sunstars are) - but it has 3 HP facials

Then you have a TA VIP Gold HO 15 min unit - which is also a 100W unit, but without the facials. So you might put these 2 together, but with the different tan times, different features - you will have issues with clients "only" wanting one or the other.

The TA VIP 3200/VHO has 160W lamps on the top - but still only 32 lamps total and without the facials that you have in level 1. Hard to upgrade folks from a bed with facials to one with none - especially since it will LOOK the same as the TA level 1.

I'm not sure what a Sunstar 44 is since I've personally never heard of one or of that configuration made by ETS. But if it IS a 44 lamp bed with 160's all around run on just a 10 min time frame - that might normally be a level 3 -- except, again, no facials which many tanners perceive as an "upgrade".

Don't buy units by "time" - buy them by the results they deliver. This combination will not lead you to a successful pricing strategy.

Re: Starter beds

How about these beds as starters?

?Level 1- (2) Super Sundash VHR bed with (40) 160 watt lamps -10/12 min lamps
?Level 2- (1) SUPER Sundash 232GF Wolff CYBERTECH bed w/43 total bulbs(32
Reflective Genesis 120 watt bulbs+ (11) High Resolution Facials

or Level 1 - TAN AMERICA VIP3200/VHO 160 watt reflector lamps- 15 min

Not sure on level three yet but dont want to go anything less than 32 as this is what the competition carries.
