Re: electric bill

When opening your salon it is important to enlist an AC engineer, use multiple AC units with dual compressors and strategically place thermostats in tanning rooms. This will help lower electric bills, also consider the TA line of equipment with the new electronic ballast the operates on 20% less electrical consumption and generates 20% less heat.

Not very effective.

Re: electric bill

During the summer months of July and August, I'm tanning about 20 customers a day. I have a 2000 sq foot salon and the a/c is running all the time. My electric bill is around $1100 per month. During the busy season, I tan 2 to 3 hundred a day and my electric bill plus gas heat is about $1800 per month. As you can tell, I have an easier time paying those bills during busy season. I'm now wondering how I'm going to pay my August bill in a couple of weeks. I'm really concerned about this economy and how it's effecting our business. Our business has totally tanked!

Re: electric bill

I have fourteen beds, but now I only need two of them. I'm located on a college campus and that's 99.99 % of my business, so I'm lucky if I see twenty people a day now. It's feast or fammon. Normally, I would say, come September I'll be really busy; but with the economy being what it is, I'm not at all optimistic. Our slide continues. This is our third year in business and 2007 has, so far, been a total bust. The only thing that has changed is the economy and the fact that our spendable income is going in our gas tanks.
