Smile Hi from the newbie

Hi there! I am new to the tanning biz. My best friend has a day spa specializing in massage and reflexology. She is going to allow me to use an area to set for spray tans . First of all, if I posted in the wrong forum and I need to be somewhere else I apologize in advance. I believe I saw a sunless forum but not sure. Due to the fact that I cannot build actual sheet rock walls, I was able to schmooze my old boss into giving me 3 cubicle 7 ft walls. Yeah! I have an opportunity to purchase a complete system by Jamaica Tans it includes 1 gallon of 12.5% tanning (ummm....solution? stuff? liquid?magic potion?) and what it calls a portable turbine air supply and lots of other bells and whistles. If they don't advertise as an HVLP, is it? They say you can tan much more quickly than airbrush in only 2 or 3 minutes. I could go on for days with questions. Thanks for reading my post..this was very therapuetic (I'm kinda overwhelmed with information) Ah well, one good thing about living in Seattle...It rains all the dern time!! Hee Hee.

Re: Hi from the newbie

DHA is an ingredient found in sugar cane,,, by mistake, someone who works in the manufacturing of baby formula got some on them and it caused a reaction to the epidermis (the outer layer of skin) So , somone (not me) came up with an idea to market and manufactur a product for external application, that gives the illusion of a tan..... DHA works only with the outer layer of skin, the reaction takes 3-8 hours to fully develop and works like tanning in the way that if someone who tans easily gets great results, and others will get good and sometimes great results,,, it all depends on the skin. Unless somone has good color to begin with, it's hard to know what color people will get... I have seen those that I didn't think would get much, come back and be like "WOW"... so you never know... Always tell the customer, that there are no garantees how well it will work..... there has been only one of my customers that it just didn't work on at all....The tan fades when the outer layer of skins sloughs off.... most times not evenly, I tell my customers that when it starts fading to exfoliate and get it off as quick as possible... hope this info helps,,, good luck
