Rep Power: 117 | Unless people are 'well to do' in your area, don't spend the money. You can buy 2 upgraded beds for the price of one HP. Also, skip the base beds or at least don't get more than 1 base. But like Tanzenite says, it depends on what your competition offers then you may have to just to stay competitive. |

Rep Power: 52 | I usually don't worry too much about what the competition offers. Don't get me wrong, i'm aware of it but i try not to let it influence what i purchase. I know getting into the buisness i had a vision as to the kind of equip. , atmosphere, staff etc. that i wanted. I just found that high pressure worked for me. I still think there's a need for base beds....i just try to have something for everyone. It's amazing at how many salons are afraid that H.P.won't work in my area but i truly think it's all how you go about it. The cust. usually starts out w/ some sticker shock but slowly they start loving the result and realize they don't have to tan as much to keep their tan. Mattress style offers that relaxation and 360 is great for those in a hurry. It also has seemed tp have the added benefit of disuading competitors from opening up. They simply don't want to make the investment. JMHO. |

Rep Power: 46 | Re: Do I need a high pressure bed? i agree with bronzman on the comp not wanting to open up next to a salon with HP because it was a reason a salon close to my area (not comp) was not purchased when put up for sale there main comp had recently added HP and slowly put them out of business and they couldnt even sell the place and eventualy closed the doors i was interested in buying it till i looked into the comp and found they had high pressure (saturn i beleive) and it was doing very well in the area. |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: Do I need a high pressure bed? We just opened on Oct 26 and we simply could not afford a HP. But our Starpower 548 is doing so well, we are getting another one Feb 1. We will probably get a HP in Feb of 2007. We want to pace ourselves and get on our feet. Competition is less than 3 miles away and we are taking their business simply because we have a simple pricing structure, good discounts, great customer service, clean facilities, and we know what we're talking about. What kind of beds are planning on going with? Who will be your distributer? Where are you located? Good Luck in Advance!!! |
