I have to agree with Tesa049 ...if you are a new salon they should be more than will to help you out to get you up and running...Its bad for business ot be so stingy like that.... They obviously care only about their bottom line.. getting $$ up front... RAMCAT.. you are wrong...Whethrer its .01% or 99.99% they should fix the problem not just say pay me first then will can talk..If that is how you do business I wouldn't do it with you!

Ramcat, you got lucky, everytime i call with the same problem , i was told to call some other company that it's not problem. I call PC charge and it's not their problem either, I call dell it's not their problem either. Persistant, I should not hafe to be persistant, Nichsoft should know how to handle ALL problems...

The only problem we are seeing is that we have networked it with our other salon and are having trouble getting it to work. Our comptuer guy has called them several times and they tell him that tan track isn't the best to network with, but when I call them they tell me it's wonderful. Well it hasn't been wonderful b/c it doesn't work all the time. The program though is nice and easy to use.

This is a little off the topic. It is a reminder to uninstall items on your computer that you do not use. I had loaded a demo disc of Tan Track about a year ago, looked at it, decided to stay with my present software and promptly forgot about it. Last week, after installing a new printer, the TanTrack Demo took over my computer. It wouldn't let me into my software or anything else on my computer. I spent over an hour on the phone with SunTouch Support before I figured out what had happened and uninstalled TanTrack. I have no idea why it had sat in the background for a year and then decided to activate itself...

Hopefully I can address some of the issues mentioned here.

I'll start with the off topic one. TanTrack does not "re-activate" itself What you were experiencing there was a common problem in Windows XP called the Windows Installer Bug. This occurs when your installer database (hosted by Windows) gets corrupted. It then prompts you to insert the CD for whatever program it randomly decides to ask for - in your case it just happened to be TanTrack. Microsoft has issued a utility called the Installer Clean-Up Utility that will let you address this issue as it mostly seems to affect Microsoft Office.

Now on to the support issue. We do provide 30 days of FREE technical support when you purchase your software. We are there to help you get up and running and answer any questions you may have. We find that this is when we get the most calls as new users are just learning the program. After that 30 days, we offer (like all software companies) an extended support agreement. In our case this includes all new software releases during your agreement as a bonus.

With regards to PC Charge, TanTrack uses components provided by PC Charge. These components have some basic requirements. First, PC Charge has to be configured so that it can process cards on its own first. Once this has been tested and known to be working, the next step is to set up TanTrack to communicate with PC Charge.

To set up TanTrack with PC Charge, you go to Tools/Options/CC Processing on the top menu. In that area you must specify PC Charge (if using TanTrack 2.5.9) as your processor. Then in the MID box, you must type the number **EXACTLY** as it appears in PC Charge. You must also set your processor code (ie NDC, GSAR, etc) so that it also matches PC Charge. If either of those two items do not match what you have in PC Charge, any processing done through TanTrack will be rejected with the message "Invalid Merchant ID". If that is the message you see, then your TanTrack settings do not match your PC Charge settings.

Once your settings match, all processing will work perfectly. If you have questions about those two settings, call the technical support department at 877-488-2901 x3.

Thank you,
Nichesoft Support

With great Thanks to American Tanning Supplies Inc. at www.tanningbed.tv we were able to resolve the problem. American Tanning Supplies Inc. paid for our tech support fee! NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL CUSTOMER SUPPORT. to all those who are unaware there are updates now available online to the Tan Track Program. After installation of the updates and a few clicks here and there we are able to process credit cards use our fancy card swiper! I must say that it is a pleasure to have TanTrack when the products works correctly.

Nichesoft is correct we recieved a 30 day free technical support period. Although this 30 days was from the date of purchase back in July! The part of the policy that creates problem is that as a new salon I ordered all supplies and equipment in advance to prepare for our opening day! Why not have the date start when the purchaser actual begins the use of TanTrack. I would not order a product and hope that it works and arrives shortly before a grand opening! It felt as if I bought a car and could not drive it! I just sat looking at it in my driveway! This policy I would recommend be changed!

Now that TanTrack is working I must say that it has numerous functions and I feel very empowered and in control of the daily operations of my salon. The numerous aspects offered with TanTrack is great! Tan Track post setup is very easy to run as well. My staff have found TanTrack to be very easy to learn and use!

I have also found the help function extremely useful! What I would suggest is a quick reference guide paperback version to be sent with TanTrack that lists these numerous functions. I have had a difficult time researching through the help section when I have consistant customers that prevent me from viewing the help section.

In conclusion, I want to display my gratitude to AMERICAN TANNING SUPPLIES INC. for assisting us! I have purchased my tanning beds and numerous other products all with extreme success and satisfaction! I would reccommend this company to anyone based on my experience with them. ***** 5 STAR rating.

We recently purchased Tan Track but are still experimenting with the program at home before actually placing it in the salon. We have received EXECELLET support from Tan Track employees!! We purchased another tanning software prior to purchasing TTrack and paid for support that we NEVER received. The support group with this other company obviously knew their software, but had difficulty walking other people through it. You can have the best software in the world, but if you can't help the common folk use it, then it's not that great!!! I can't say enough wonderful stuff about the help I've received from Tan Track. It is also a very user-friendly software in and of itself!!!
