Rep Power: 0 | i am looking into starting a salon in a small area that is growing extremely fast. the population here will more than double in the next couple of years. the closest tanning salon is 10+ miles away and IMO not as attractive as it should be. any advice for me to consider? |

Rep Power: 20 | If you are a newbie I would recommend that you get as much help as possible. Get yourself a good tanning salon consultant. Don't rely on this forum for all the answers. Too many conflicting opinions. Get someone who has your interests at heart, someone who is going to dedicate the time and effort specifically for you. I would recommend Pointblank Business Technology. There is a lot of free info on their website. Check it out when you get a chance. |

Rep Power: 0 | Sw2k, BigLeo is right about having a good consultant. There are a few very good consultants on this site. Also, it's important for you to visit the industry and obtain a good education by going to Nashville for the ITA show. Nashville is the best place to get certification, attend seminars and you will have a world of information at your fingertips by speaking with experienced salon owners. Congrats on your decision! You will love the industry! |

Rep Power: 19 | I'm in the build-out process for my new salon currently and I've learned so much from people on this website. Listen to Terri (TFranssen), she's been an invaluable help to me and many others on this site. Also, if you look at all of sunsally's posts you'll find a wealth of information there as well! I'm not saying there aren't plenty of other helpful people here, because there are TONS! But, these two women in particular have helped me tremendously by their very informative posts. I've used the search function on this site for countless hours. There are differing opinions, but you can usually find one that helps your particular situation. Sign up to receive all the trade magazines, you can find some helpful articles there... Good luck! |
