I am trying to figur out how many amps I will need to account for in the breaker box. I was thinking of having 2 200 amp boxes with 2 phase electricity ran in. But what if I get a 3 phase bed? Will 2-200 amo boxes work for 10 beds
3-32x100w bulb bed
2-42x160w bulb bed w 3 500w facials
1 - stand-up 48 bulb
2-51+ x 160w bulb bed with 4 facials
Looking at adding a matrix L58 also
or Solotron Shark I think it is a 3 phase.
Also 1 more question when we do our build out should I have the electricians put 220w outlets in room even though most beds are hard wired?? Sorry for the questions I am just trying to learn as much as I can as I go.
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks
Sunny saint

Sunny Saint, you have to look at the data plate on each bed to get the "Running amps" and sometimes they'll list the recommended breaker size for the unit. You really need an electrician for this. But I'll take a wild guess: 3ea 30a and 6ea 60a (including the Matrix L58). I'm pretty sure you will have to have the L 58 converted to single phase, which will increase the amperage, but I think you have eneough room with 400a service. But an electrician will be the one to talk to. Good luck.

I can't wait to get that dislexia for cure that just out came. No, I don't think you have enough in 2 200a service panels to cover this all.

Do yourself a favor Look into bringing three phase in..The soltron shark for instance can NOT run on single phase. No reason at all to put 220v outlet in rooms if your local code does not require the bed to have a plug.(your electrician should know your local codes)

sunnysaint you need to consalt a electrican. I would have a 3 phase 400 amp service installed. It is a lot cheaper to have a many of the larger beds & your ac run on 3 phase because it draws less amps.

More than likely the 2-200A panels will be 3 phase.

Yes that will be enough power for 10 Beds.

Even if you had several large beds or HP.

You can get 680 working amps off those two panels.

Working my electrial right now. We are going w/ 600A 3P and 100 1P(?)

Using 2(200A) box is cheaper than using 1(400A) box, those need to be be special order in most cities. The 200s are everywhere.

Most bed over 30A will required 3P. You bring in 3 HOT legs(208-220v total) and use only what you need for the beds. And if your going wireless, you will also need 120v in the rooms and maybe something to plug in that cd player or sat radio. In most cities, if your panel is speced at 400amps, your ONLY allow to use 80% of the rating. The rest is for buffer.

If your wiring for scratch, you might consider USING 50amp capable wires in all the room just incase you want to move the beads around. It does not cost that much more. But be certain to have the appropriate breakers.

BTW, A 1P(single phase) isnt really a single phase. Its more like ta two phase. BC its using to hot legs(from memory) and 1 ground.
