Hi, To make a long story short, I have an adult website and I wanted to get a solarforce or sundome standup tanning booth for the models at my studio. The ? is: Will a 60amp circuit breaker be enough for 1 or possibly 2 of these booths? I've read that some of you spend 20-40k on electrical upgrades. I would like to avoid this as I don't plan on making money from the booths as I'm using it as an incentive for my models. Any advice will be appreciated thanks Sean |
According to their website (www.etstan.com), the solarforce requires a 70amp and Sundome needs a 60amp. Most standups need at least a 50 amp. Good luck! |
Okay, so basically you are saying that I will need upgrades for the solarforce but the sundome will be fine. One other thing. I have numerous computers and lights also being used. will the booth interfere with my other stuff? Are you saying that the sundome would need all the 60amp of power to operate? |
I assumed, you have at least a 200Amp panel of "service" and you have 60 amps "free" for a tanning bed - true? In this case, all your computers and lights should be running off of other breakers in the panel and you should be fine - no interference. When a tanning bed calls for a certain size breaker, it doesn't actually use that ENTIRE amount of power. There is usually a "running amps" needed that is slighly smaller. In an off-the-top of my head guess, I'd think if it requires a 60amp breaker that it's running amps are probably around 48 or so. Your bed salesperson should be able to help you with all of this information as well. Or call an electrician, and have them tell you exactly what you have "available" in your panel, and in the studio as a whole. |
As sunsally has said. First find out what amp panel you have. Also find out if its 3 phase or single phase. If you have a 3 phase panel, some mfg's have 3 phase units or can make them 3 phase which you would be using less amperage. Read whats on you panel and post it and I'm sure many of us can help you. Also research you verticle units more and you can find more options. Also there are usually good deals on used verticle units also.l |
