We are opening a new salon but it will be fairly small. What we will have room for is 5 10x10 rooms. Here is what I am thinking. One room Airbrusher, One Room spray booth, 2 High pressure and one wax room. What do you think? Should we have one regular bed for the cheapies? Is high pressure the way to go? There is only one salon in a ten mile radius from us and they offer regular beds, High pressure and a standup. I just want the best variety in our small space.

You have to consider what is around you before you decide on what is best for your market. If the other salon has regular beds, you should have at least 1 or 2 of a comparable bed. High pressure, absolutely you better have one. Better get a stand up as well. I would suggest keeping the spray or airbrush . You don't need both right now. You can alwasy add on after. A wax room?? For wraps? Hope that you are in a classier neighborhood that can afford it.

HIgh pressure rooms need to be 10 x 10 the rest only need to be on average 8 x 7, I wouldn't suggest using all 10 x 10 rooms if you don't need to. Utlize as much space as possible. Is there really that much demand for HP in your area?

I'd forgo one or the other on your spray as well, since you are small why not just do a airbrush room? I do not see why you would need both and if you really do feel the need to have both, why not have both in one room?

I don't like the bed mix. You should offer at least three or four levels of tanning. Having just HP's doesn't make a lot of sense unless you plan on turning away customers who can't afford to tan in them. Then there is the issue of serving customers who need a good base tan. I don't think you want ot start with an HP.

They've got 5 10x10 rooms. What should they put in?
