Rep Power: 0 | Ok, me and my best friend are going to open our own salon in Massachusetts. There has got to be a billion things we never thought about in opening this. For everyone: What was your biggest challenge? Most expensive? Biggest help? What is the one thing that I should be concerned about NOW!? We are drafting a business plan with some help next wk (july 23rd). I am just really worried we are going to miss something imperative to this whole project. Any and all advice would be amazing. What are first steps should be...I am so paranoid ugh.. Thank you in advance xo Allison & Lauren ~L.A.'s Inferno~ |

Rep Power: 0 | Biggest challenge - choosing beds. Most expensive - buying beds. Remodeling building is a close second. Biggest help - my tech guy and all the great advice and info. on this site. Check to see what finances you have available. Do you have a building or location in mind? Research, research, research. Oh, did I mention to make sure you have access to lots of $$$? Good luck. |

Rep Power: 20 | In fact people that feel choosing equipment is the hardest task are people that are not properly prepared to be successful. If you have a proven structured program and plan for success the equipment selection is the easiest part of the process. Too many people choose their equipment as one of their first task. In fact it is one of the last tasks if you are prepared for success. You should know with a reasonable amount of certainty what type of income your salon will produce and exactly how the income will be produced. |

Rep Power: 0 | id be surprised if you get a loan for what your looking for, do you have collateral? the bank will ask, and ofcourse none of us do unless daddy foots the bills. They'll tell you that evryday a salon, spa or tanning salon doesnt make it so they'll lose...im not pessimistic ive just been there with a super business plan and everything, just dont be disappointed and keep looking for grants. Your persistance will pay off in the end. |
