Bed hookup - tanTALK

When you order your beds does someone hook them up for you upon delivery or do you hire an electrician to come do it? We are ordering from Tan America and Ergoline. Or is is something that is easy to do yourself?

They will provide the assembly of the unit, you need to have an electrician on hand to power the bed up.

Is the assembly usually included in the cost of the bed? Also, do you know if the cost of the bed includes shipping?

you need to ask the manufacturer/rep... I always made them throw that in, you have more leverage if you are buying multiple beds...

If the prices they quoted don't say "installation included", assume it isn't. Usually anywhere from a few hundred dollars each for "smaller" beds to upwards of $1000 for a very large, complicated bed. When you buy multiples, that can take the price down (because mileage/shipping is then spread over several units, not just one).

A good installer is well worth it - not only to install the bed, but show you how to change lamps, do simple maintenance, trouble shoot "typical" issues, etc!

My distributor includes installation and hooking them up. They actually have a lisenced electrician on staff.

If you have not gotten your beds yet give them a call. Most distributorships are heavy on sales people, but short on anyone with technical expertise or electrical.

Some distributors will do the hook up, depending if they are licensed. Your distributor should help you with the electrical requirement to give to your electrician. You said you were getting TA beds. Most of them require a neutral wire.
