Rep Power: 0 | I was wondering if anyone here sells their lotion to anyone who walks in the door. I sell all of my lotion at my cost + tax because I had a lot of lotion stocked and wasn't selling anything. I have alot of the comp. customers that come and buy my lotions and they tell me they go to the salon down the street. Would you sell the lotion to them even if you aren't making anything off of them. |

Rep Power: 68 | Why would you retail anything for non-profit in the first place?!! Are you running a tanning hospice, federally funded, a grant from the AMA? What?! Why?! I have to go lie down now. And no, I wouldn't sell anything at cost plus tax to anyone. Geeeez. The humanity. No offense Dixie. But for God's sake, please try to earn a profit in there. Good luck. |

Rep Power: 28 | We have a fitness center down the street from us that has two base tanning beds. I guess the convenience is why people tan there but we also have many clients who go to the gym and then tan with us. And yes, we do have those people who walk in the door and just purchase lotion from us and use it at the gym. But we do make a profit on that lotion! No way would I ever sell at my cost! In fact, the owner of the gym came in yesterday and she purchased a $60 bottle of lotion from us. Funny thing was I airbrushed her just last week, and she let me place a sign in the gym for specials for airbrushing the body builders. But like everyone said, for heaven's sake, make SOMETHING on what you sell! |

Rep Power: 0 | We don't have too many who just purchase lotion. If that is what they want we definitely charge retail. If we are having a special on lotions and advertise this, we put in the add "client's only". We have a few who have their own beds at home and come to us for the lotion. |

Rep Power: 22 | i will sell lotion to anyone who comes in the door. We even sell our PL line to some of our comps clients. I cant help they dont know the benefits behind selling lotion and moisturizers. SHe has 2 of my old clients working for her, you would think they would be selling the heck out of it, since they heard us all the time telling the benefits of using tanning lotion and moisturizers. |

Rep Power: 24 | You have set yourself up for failure as I see it, now how will you ever sell it & make any money ?? I am a small 750 sq ft salon & 30% of my sales are from retail. Sounds like education is needed so you can get back on track. You also ruin it for the 0ther salons that are trying to make a living selling their products for the retail value , I am surpised that other salons have not called the manufactures to tell them about what you are doing. Who cares who you sell the product to !! At best you should have sold at retail & offered sessions . Worst yet you have devalued the product in your own salon . |
