Rep Power: 0 | I am opening a new tanning salon/accessory boutique. With fingers crossed hopefully Sept 1st. My bed line up is 6 ergoline ambition 250 with face tanners 15 min exp, 1 ergoline evolution 600, and 1 ergoline excellence 850. I am also opening with a mystic, just waiting to find out about the vegas show specials. I live in a town of about 13,000, we have two other tanning salons, 1 has 5 beds all dated, and the other has 12 beds, they do a great business but their equipment is dated , no high pressure or levels of tanning. This site has been a great resource for me, I haven't seen too many posts on ergoline, I just want to make sure my $120,000.+ is being spent well. Any opinions on the old style mystic compared to the new booth? I can't believe they want 35,000. for the new one, is the upgrade really better? |

Rep Power: 0 | I used to have a business I started called Purse Envy, we sold jewelry and handbags in peoples homes. It is hard to get anything retail to make it in my small town, but I think if I open the tanning salon, the type of people who tan, (people who care about their appearnce, like looking great) will appreciate the unique , fun, accessories that I will be selling as well! |

Rep Power: 21 | Good choice of equipment! Not too many posts on here about Ergoline- because its soo pricey. You may want to try the Magic Tan Spray booth. I think they are better than the Mystic to be honest with you. 2 salons already existing- in a population of 13,000 people..... You may want to have a Free Tanning Weekend or somethin. The population is small- especially for 3 salons. Also, remember, people are not gonna just migrate to your salon because its new- you need to give them a reason to come in! They are perfectly happy where they are right now, so make sure you have some tricks up your sleeve. I was in the EXACT situation as you 2 years ago (except the population here is 22,000). I am finally now seeing all the "regulars" from my competition finally coming to our salon- simply because its better. BUT- it took 2 years to get them to leave their routine. Remember that. Its not as easy as you think to "steal" customers from your competitor. My advice is POUND the area with your logo, and advertising! Do a Free Tan Weekend for your Grand Opening, and go to your local paper with the story- and hopefully they pick it up. This will give you a GOOD head start!! |
